I bought the Kitchenaid KBRS22KWMS6 in mai 2012. In late 2015 I needed to change a piece for the botton freezer drawer since water would leak. Now September 2017, it's the refrigerator turn to have a problem... it's not cooling anymore. A bit more than 5 years for this fridge and already 2 issues... Don't waste your money!

This refrigerator is now 3yrs old and already had to take care of 2 problems. Plus I find the warranty is not that great on most parts that are going to go on it first? (Relay switch)....First repair for the drainage problem to replace the drainage hose. KitchenAid did mail the part no charge but I had to install this myself.. Then recently a clicking sound and had a service technician $100. later to inform my fridge is ok? Apparently you must clean your bottom coils and the back of the fridge remove the panel and vacuum all the dust. Or else your compressor will over heat causing your relay switch to break.... He recommended do this once a year..Plus you should invest in a Coil brush through an appliance store or places like Home Depot (ProClean Appliance Brush)

Great Fridge Apart From One Design Flaw

Purchased this model three years ago and was very happy with performance until recently, when started having the same issues described by other reviewers - namely slab of ice forming continuously on the freezer bottom until it stopped the freezer drawer from closing properly and meltwater started leaking out onto our kitchen floor. From research online, it seemed this was a common problem with this model series and was due to a poorly designed drain outlet at the rear of the fridge that becomes clogged over time. Phoned the KitchenAid/Whirlpool support line and they were quite helpful. At no charge, they mailed me a replacement part (a P-Trap Drain Tube Kit) for the problem drain outlet. The support line guy told me that if the problem had occurred in the first two years after purchase, then KitchenAid would also have paid the labour costs for someone to come and install it on the fridge. So I ended up doing the part replacement myself with the help of an easy-to-find YouTube DIY video. Not really that difficult and I wouldn't really call myself a handyman. Three months later and no further incidents of ice forming on the freezer bottom.

I have had this refirgerator for two years now, and love the styling, space and how easy it is to clean. Unfortunately the freezer is prone to constant freeze ups and once every 6 days I have to remove a slab of ice (see photo) from the bottom of the freezer to prevent it from dripping/leaking onto the floor. I attribute this to a design flaw in the manufacture of the refrigerator, and since it is no longer covered by warranty I have had to research a solution on my own. I have contacted Kitchenaid/Whirlpool on several occasions to see if they could provide a solution or even parts to corrct the issue, without resolve. I expect better quality from this brand.

The unit does a good job cooling and freezing food, but 4 times since purchase in 2010, the drain has clogged and ice and water have backed up in the freezer compartment and leaked onto the floor beneath the unit. It also is very loud cycling on and off. I have complained to the manufacturer in the beginning, but have given up anticipating any lasting remedy to the problem. Again, tomorrow I have the fifth repair for the same problem in 5 years.

This appliance is replacing an all fridge that had it's compressor fail just after the warranty. This is the forth NEW fridge that we bought in 12 years. We decided to try a different brand than any of the others we had. The salesman said that Kitchen-Aid were the best. I hope he is right, and this one lasts longer than it's predecessors. I have had this fridge for several months and it works faultlessly. The bottom freezer model makes it easier to see leftovers, and the temperature at which it is set keeps food properly for much longer than my old fridge. The overall size is the same as my old fridge, but it seems to hold much more in both the fridge and freezer. It's also, contrary to what I've read, not a noisy appliance. Two things keep me from giving it a "five" rating. First, the right crisper gets hooked up on the right-hand humidity control knob when I try to close the drawer, which then has to be wiggled into place. A nuisance that I plan to address. Secondly the plastic shelves and bins, etc, are really flimsy and I think it's a shame to not use the same quality throughout. If I didn't have these two complaints I might haven given it a "six"!

I bought this fridge to replace a previous 26 year old whirlpool. It is less noisy and I love having an new easy to wipe down fridge. I am not particularly thrilled with the interior drawer set up and it could use one more door shelf. My old fridge had deep vegetable drawers and although this one is the same cubic feet, it seems like I can't fit as much into it. Excellent fridge just don't like that small drawer on the bottom, seems like wasted space.

After less than three years of excellent performance, the upper fridge section of my bottom freezer unit began to warm up even though the freezer was still OK. The repairman started out by saying a new bi-metallic (thermoswitch?) needed to be ordered (around $190 total). The next day he came out with a new "Jazz Board" controller after having conferred with Kitchenmaid. Total bill - $399.49. Let's hope this sort of malfunction doesn't occur in the foreseeable future to really test my brand loyalty.

This is a beautiful refrigerator that can be seen from my great room/ dining room. It's handsome, without the clutter of an on-the-door water/ ice. The refrigerator room is spacious, easy to clean and easy to organize. The ultimate test is Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner leftovers----passed with flying colors. The shelves on the door hold a surprising amount of goods. I'm still learning to organize the freezer section, but I like this layout much more that a side-by-side.

I did a complete kitchen remodel in my old farm house last month and went with all KitchenAid appliances. I am so happy with my bottom- freezer refrigerator. It is so easy for me to access my frozen foods in the pull out drawers. The top section has plenty of space for my bottled water and separate drawers for vegetables and cheeses. I love that this frig was made in the USA and has a long and comprehensive warranty. I love everything about this refrigerator except for one thing. The deli and crisper drawers should have a better sliding system. For the cost of the refrigerator these features are much lower quality than other makes in this price range. That is my only complaint. If the drawers rolled in and out smoothly I would have been so happy.

I wanted a nice looking, well-made, simple refrigerator with lots of space. The freezer had to be on the bottom--after all, which do you use more, the fridge or the freezer? It is very roomy with adjustable split shelves; one even glides out. I can adjust the shelves to accommodate short and tall containers, as needed. There is also a lot of usuable door space with washable removable cushion liners in each of the adjustable door compartments. The front of my refrigerator is stainless steel. Many manufacturers make stainless fronts with BLACK sides--yes, black. The KitchenAid came with grey sides so it blends beautifully with my cabinets and other appliances. It's quiet. And I am thrilled to have an icemaker. The ice comes out very clear and pure-looking.

I happen to be a fan of Kitchenaid and its products. I am disappointed with this product. The design of the interior light fixture is such that it restricts the headroom of any tall items - milk cartons, soda bottles, etc,. that are placed on the top shelf. The fixture is an obstruction.at times there is an issue with closing the storage drawers. The levers above the drawers restrict the ease of closing and if the closing alignment is not exactly treplaces, there is not enough tolertance for ease of closing. As stated above, the freezer drawer design is a saving grace for the poor refridgerator design

I'm so pleased with this refrigerator. It's very roomy with shelves that are easy to access and clean. I particularly like the bottom freezer. It is so easy to find items in there, and access to the ice maker is great. The bin is large and easy to remove when needed.

I choose Kitchen aid for the top refrigerator, solid warranty and made in American.The refrigerator part is wonderful. Love the deep door and bottom drawer for meats and cheese. It 's easy to customize for personal use. The vegetable drawers are short and slip out of the tracks. Getting used to a new design takes time. It is easy to clean inside The freezer is taking a little more time to organize and utilize. The stainless steel door already has scratches on it. no idea how that happened. Would not get stainless steel in future. I bought the proper product to clean it, but shows hand prints easily. It has been used only a few months. Would love to write a review in 5 and 10 years. I hope it will still be cooling my food.

Nice looking refrigerator. Botton freezer is a little small. Talkes a little getting used to. Is pretty loud at times. Service people had to come out two times to stop it from making some really loud noises.

Great refrigerator for an old house

We originally wanted to get a counter-depth fridge, but after realizing we didn't have enough width for it in our 1950's kitchen, we opted for this model. It is very spacious & has excellent performance & design. My only minor complaint is that the drawers fall out a lot even when they're not pulled out that far. Other than that, it's been great!

The large light box on the top gets in the way when removing tall items. The crisper drawers fall out too easily. We have the paint chipped off the corner of the freezer door and don't know how it happened.
