Kitchen Aid touts themselves as the premium USA brand but yet I had two dented refrigerators delivered and the cooktop has been recalled. I bought the entire kitchen worth of appliances from Best Buy around July 4. When you call to tell them yours is impacted they had no details and said to expect a call in 3-5 days. What a joke! There is a reason why Wolf and Viking charge much more. Last time I make this mistake.

Replaces a cooktop that no longer was serviced by KitchenAid, and so far, it works very well. Heats quickly, and does the job. Too bad I could not have just had the old one repaired; it was only six years old.

I am limited to electric appliances in the kitchen. Based on the good reputation of kitchenaid , we bought this. I spent a solid month cooking on this, trying to conquer the cooking challenges. It seems to really only be either extremely hot or very low. We even had a repairman visit to see if something was wrong. At some expense to us, due to restocking fees, we decided to return this and switch to induction . Truly a costly waste. Great design, but please work out the calibration in the heating elements.

We will be replacing this cooktop soon, though just purchased. Our retailer would not accept its return with a reasonable refund when we expressed our dissatisfaction after installation and initial use. Our main complaint is that it burns our food. The controls go up to 20 and I cannot imagine the conflagration if you actually cooked anything at 20 because 4 is too hot for eggs. Second,it's surface is so delicate, it was scratched on installation and we have to take a lot of care to protect it from further damage. Third, the touch controls cause the stovetop to obnoxiously beep if it senses anything it considers untoward. Oh no - you set the top to the skillet on the portion of the stovetop not in use. Call the fire department - you tried to wipe it off without locking it. Last, do not buy this (or any other) touch control stovetop with similar surface if you are bothered by fingerprints on your appliances. Cook = fingerprint = clean = beep beep beep beep beep . . .

I am a KitchenAid fan, but this cooktop is poorly designed and I had to return it. It was difficult to connect to Wi-Fi, it won't stay connected to Wi-Fi, and it constantly beeps at you when spatters land on the touch controls. Even wiping it down after cooking causes it to beep incessantly until you dry it off! The last straw back was that it froze... we were unable to turn off the control lock and cook. I had to "reboot" it by turning it off at the circuit breaker! I returned it for the equivalent "knob" version, but that model has significant design issues as well.

Instead of low, medium, or high, I love that this cooktop gives you 20 different setting choices to customize the temperature of what you are cooking. It is also super easy to keep clean, especially the touch control pad. With the indicator light it is easy to tell when the cooking area is still too hot to touch. I love the versatility of having five different burners to choose from. This is the first time I have had a cooktop instead of a stove and I would highly recommend it!

We replaced another brand glass cooktop a month ago and so far, so good. it took a few days to get used to the touch controls (vs knobs) but it's hust a matter of time to figure it out. The dual size high power burner is super hot even on low (3-4) settings with both elements on. Seems normal with just the inner ring on. So we use the other large burner more often when sautéing etc. The low settings (melt, keep warm, simmer) work great. All "touch points" seem slow to react, and it "complains" (beeps) when I soap it down to clean when it is cooled off.
