DON'T BUY! Numerous problems & poor customer support. - After just a few weeks the top glass tray broke. - The stainless steel is poor quality - 8 months and I have rust spots all over the front and I can't rub them out. Kitchenaid will not take responsibility and blames me for "improper care". - Numerous design flaws: 1) There is a groove along the top of the door adjacent to the "hidden" buttons that fills with crumbs and other gross items that fall into the crack from the counter, and it's very difficult to get them out - eye sore, and a pain. 2) When the door closes during the wash it prevents the portion of the basin that is underneath the closed door from being cleaned. Gunk and crud don't get washed away, and looks disgusting when the door is open. This was an expensive dishwasher. It's way over-priced, and Kitchenaid didn't stand by their product.

So quiet!

We've had this a month now, and love it. Granted, it replaced a 14-year old model, but I've had new dishwashers in other homes and they didn't compare to this. It does a great job scrubbing everything clean and the dishes come out dry and sparkling. And it's QUIET, like sometimes I'm not even sure it's running unless I check the light. Highly recommend this model.

I've had my dishwasher 3 weeks and its super quiet and does a fantastic job cleaning all dishes esp pots and pans when using the pro scrub option. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT MY LESS THAN A MONTH OLD DISH WASHER HAS RUST FORMING INSIDE ON THE DOOR. And my knives came out with rust spots on them I can't understand how a 1 thousand plus dollar dishwasher is doing this.

Second Kitchenaid Dishwasher in 3.5 years

Had to replace our Kitchenaid Dishwasher that we purchased 3-4 years ago. Loved the first one! But this past January it died on us and the whole pump/motor needed replaced. Maintenance plan had expired so we were quoted $450 on the first diagnostic service visit to fix it... then $600 on the second diagnostic service visit ... both through Sears Repair Service. Well, for $600 we could not justify putting $600 towards the repair of a 3-4 year-old dishwasher. Liked Kitchenaid so much (even though the first one had died) we went and purchased another Kitchenaid!! Purchased a 5-year maintenance agreement and spent a whopping $350+ for it. So I'm guessing this machine will last probably until the 6th year. I am really confused as to why the Sear's 5-year Maintenance Agreement does not start on the "second year" of ownership... the first year being the factory warranty. In essence, getting 6-years total. Wish us luck... I do like the machine. So far, so good.

Bought this in November before we remodeled the kitchen. It looks works and looks awesome. It is so quiet you cannot even tell if it is running. All the extra built in features were an extra bonus we didn't think about when we bought it. The racks roll in and out with ease. We bought this a few weeks ago and I'm not thrilled by it. Even though the trays slide very nicely, compared to our old Bosch, and they have more room than the Bosch, they are really poorly designed so it's hard to load it efficiently. It doesn't dry nearly as well as I had hoped either. But the thing that really makes me mad is the poor cleaning. It never removes the lip gloss from the rims of small glasses and at least a few dishes come out every load that must be rewashed. Plus it is louder than I thought it would be. Wish we had gone with the Bosch!

I am a Kitchenaid super fan; I love their products. We had a Kitchenaid Pro Series before this and it was great. We bought this dishwasher 3 months ago and I cannot imagine using it for another year, much less another 10 years. I have standard 9" plates and they are too tall for this dishwasher(the middle rack spinner hits my plates during the cycle). My cups and bowls don't come clean on the second rack, even after I prerinse. The third rack is completely useless. The trays are unstable and slide around. We were so excited to get this dishwasher, it has been such a disappointment.

Info Light stopped working after 2 days

We picked this dishwasher because it had the best rolling racks. It has a track on the bottom rack that no other dishwasher brand offered. It also cleans and dries well. However, the "info light" on the front of the dishwasher stopped working after 2 days. I refuse to deal with warranty or repair work on a brand new appliance that's still within it's return period, so we have returned it and are awaiting a new dishwasher from another brand. It's too bad, as I did like the dishwasher. In addition, I suspected the decibel level was higher than claimed (42db). I bought a decibel meter on Amazon and it registered as high as 52 db at some points (and not when the dishwasher was draining). It might be 42 db at the quietest point in the cycle, but is not that quiet for the duration of the cycle, so that's misleading.

Has adjustable upper rack

I like this appliance - it is far superior to the dishwasher I had in its quietness and cleaning ability. Have had it for about 3 weeks and still getting used to loading it. The upper rack needs to be lowered to accommodate wine glasses. However, this results in the lower rack dishes not having very much clearance so that the arms spin freely. I have been having to hand wash wine glasses.

Replaced a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that was installed 18 years ago when we purchased and remodeled an older home. Dishwashers have come a long way since then. This one is very quiet and does a great job at cleaning the dishes and glasses. Took a while to learn the new configuration for loading. Replaced a 21 year old Kitchen Aid with this. Very pleased with noise level and operation. Dishes are consistently spotless. Concern was lower wash arm which did not spin freely. Why an engineer would design it to only spin freely when the water pressure raised it totally baffles me. As a tool and die designer I would reject that concept at any level in the design process.

This is our third Kitchenaid dw but our first Architect Series II. What a great appliance. Without the front panel LED you would never know it was running! All of our previous Kitchenaids have been quiet but this on is the quietest by far. I just finished washing a baking dish from last night's meatloaf. As a test, I just wiped out the big chunks and put it in to wash with the ProScrub option selected. The extra water jets at the back of the tub cleaned it right up. Highly recommended.

Kitchenaid Architect Series II Dishwasher

We replaced our 13 year old Whirlpool Gold dishwasher in the nick of time. It had a bad bearing in the pump. This new KitchenAid is wonderfully quiet. We don't have any sand-like debris on the glasses anymore. We are well-pleased.

An incredibly designed and engineered dishwasher that looks beautiful, cleans great, and the dishwasher is so quiet that you don't even know it is running!!

Stinky Dishwasher

Not so happy with the dishwasher.... it doesn't drain all the way, some water is left behind and it smells already. Also, takes a very long time to wash a load. The best part about it that its quiet.

Great Dishwasher

Bought this dishwasher about a month ago and am very happy, so far. It is incredibly quiet. I have to actually put my ear down near the door to make sure it is running. Dishes come out clean and dry. Like having the control buttons on the top of the door and out of sight. You do need to remember to not put some types of plastic on the lower rack, they will melt. Great product.
