Having difficulty with water filter cover

This is my 2nd Kitchenaid refrigerator. The first was purchased in 2005 and lasted for years. I purchased this refrigerator in 2015, January and overall I am very pleased with the way it operates. The issue has been and continues to be the water filter cover does not stay in place and there seems to be no resolve other than to replace it. I contacted Kitchenaid and they recommended I contact their service company because the problem was not covered by warranty. I tried another appliance service company that came out and told me I had to order a new one, a lot of nothing after paying 85.00 service fee. Be mindful of this issue before you purchase. Trying not to order part and hopefully get issue resolved. After paying 2500, I certainly has no idea I would be replacing parts this soon.

Pretty good fridge, but leaks

Soon after I bought this item began to leak water from the freezer on to the floor. I called to have it fixed and they said they would send the replacement part, but not pay room fix it. This is a problem with many of ther refrigeratorso. I replaced the part and it is still leaking.

We bought this model refrigerator in 2012 and thought it was a great refrigerator until this year when we returned from our winter home. We turned it on, installed a new water filter and all seemed right until, "no ice" the box was cold and seemed ok. We called a local repair service and was told the refrigerant was low and needed to be refilled. ok, $100.00. No leak detected. All seemed right again for a week when a loud noise emitted from the freezer drawer and again, no ice. Repair service returned, Condenser was iced up and fan blade was hitting ice. repair man applied heat to condenser and melted the ice and reset temperatures,(They were fine the first two years). NO CHARGE. A week later same thing all over again. Same company, different technician. After clearing the Ice, he told us that there was a leak in the evaporator and would order a new on, He looked at the warrantee and told us that the company (Kitchen Aid would pay for the labor and parts. no charge. It is now a week later, on parts yet, we do get ice, but the noise is back. This time I will melt it myself.

This refrigerator fits all of our cooling/freezing needs. Easy to organize, holds a lot & great lighting. Produce seems to keep longer compared to our old refrigerator.

This fridge/freezer replaced a 2 1/2 year old appliance (a different brand) that was an expensive piece of garbage. I'm so very satisfied and extremely happy in choosing a KitchenAid. Love the separate produce drawer -- it allows me to see everything on hand at once. No searching through two drawers. Capacity of the freezer is great, as is the capacity of the fridge. Couldn't be more pleased.

Have not run out of room in it yet. I'm a cooker so there is always good leftovers. Am never in need of trying to make/find space in this one. Love love love it and with my norwex cloths it is easy to keep print free.
