Great Refrigerator

Just what we wanted - French doors, lower freezer, white, internal water dispenser. We have a 30" depth pocket space and were concerned that it would stick out too far, but it fit beautifully. I'm an engineer, so I love the control panel in the top that displays real temperatures. Most important, the wife loves it.

A little Behind the competition

This Kitchen Aid replaced our old refrigerator, which was a similar size French door refrigerator that was 11 years old, which at times was causing us problems with leaking water onto the floor, which seemed to be connected with the defrost system. On the exterior the Kitchen Aid looks nice, it has better lighting top & bottom. The vegetable draws don't stay shut, using one side can cause the other side to open slightly, plus when opening the right drawer it hits on the left door of the refrigerator not allowing it to be opened all the way unless you have both doors open. One does not have this problem with the left draw, as it pulls out unrestricted with only the left door opened. Our old model did not have this problem at all. Reason we went with the Kitchen Aid over rebuying an updated version of our old refrigerator was they seemed per the reviews to be having more problems with their newer units with their defrost mode not working, causing an ice build up and water leaking. Got the Kitchen Aid hoping for a longer life that 11 years, hopefully with out any problems, only time will tell. Per the reviews it seemed the best overall choice at this time, plus it was made in U.S.A.

Poor purchase, nothing fits!

I bought this refridgerator about 3 months ago and find it to be aweful. The shelf and door space do not hold much. No matter how you adjust the shelves, you cannot place a gallon of milk or amond mild in the fridge wihtout losing half a shelf. The doors close on you while you are trying to place something in the fridge. The freezer "basket" is vey cheeply made and is very shallow that it doe not hold a lot. Furthermore, to get the separators out of the freezer you need to take the whole basket out and use a screw driver to pry it off - and hopefully not break it. All in all i am not happy with this refrigerator and would love to return it and get my old one back. If I could I would rate it -1.

Best refrigerator EVER

For over two years, I had owned this same model but in the 33 inch width as the condo I lived in did not have a space wide enough for the 36 inch model. We recently moved into a larger condo and it does have enough space for the 36 inch model. It was delivered one month ago, and I absolutely love it. Whether you need the smaller model or this larger one, you cannot go wrong.

Buzzes like you're under power lines. Set up service with kitchenaid, but the service never showed. Now i have to take another day off work. For my inconvenience, kitchenaid added a year to the warranty, so three total. Thats unlikely to be a real expense to them because refrigerators shouldnt have problems for 20 years. Guy on phone said all frig'es are loud these days because they use less insulation for fire purposes.... Other than that the frig is ok

Very Happy with the Fridge

We've been very happy with the fridge so far. It's our first fridge with water and ice features, and we're enjoying that too. No more ice trays! Only issue was that when we received the unit 2 of the rubber mats in the door mounted shelves were missing. We called to point this out and replacements were mailed to us in a week.

Although our old refrigerator was still in working condition, the door ice dispenser was constantly jamming and freezing up. We live in Florida so ice is essential Our new kitchen aid has the ice and water dispenser inside the unit. Voila! Plenty of ice without the jams. Love the design of this refrigerator. I always have a bottom freezer - the only kind to get. The internal water feature is the best. No mess on the outside. I've had this refrigerator for years - love it. The one before this was another brand. When I went to buy a new one as I moved, that brand was now KitchenAid but this is the same style. I just don't know why anyone would buy any other style.

Excellent but...

After loads of research hubby and I bought this refrigerator, and loved the fact that it works well, is white for our new kitchen, and is very quiet, all of which is important to us. BUT, be warned about the shelf's! The shelving does NOT go all the way to the back of the refrigerator, which I've never seen before so I didn't notice it at the store. There is about a 2" gap between the end of the shelf and the refrig's back wall. As such, anything small than a soda can falls through and falls/slides down the wall to the shelves below. What a pain in the neck and much wasted space!!! Whoever designed this refrigerator needs his head examined...

Love it! Better than LG

This Kitchen Aid so much better than the LG! I have had this fridge for two months now and I absolutely love it: wine rack, size, ice, freezer!! I especially like Lowe's! I originally bought an LG but the doors were really thick and I had to pull far out of my cabinet to open them. The LG also didn't go with the rest of my kitchen. The LG also arrived chipped. Lowes took it back without a problem and no restocking fees. They also let me return the dishwasher so I can buy a matching set of this brand, Kitchen Aid. I'm really happy I got this Kitchen Aid refrigerator. I was concerned because it's about a half an inch higher than other refrigerators in its class according to specs, and I have a limited openings space. But the refrigerator is actually about 1/4 to 1/8 " less than than what the specs say, so it's really same height as others in its class. The doors are also thinner which mean that it doesn't have to stick away out of the cabinet to open up. It's hard to see from the picture below but we've recessed the back of our wall to push back the refrigerator. The LG had to stick out 4". This one can be back further and still open. The bottom freezer stores pizza boxes and ice cream well, and the ice maker makes large cubes. It's so easy to remove the bucket to dump in an ice chest or scoop in a cup. The main refrigerator has a water dispenser inside which is great- it takes up less space. We never use it anyway. I also love love love the built-in wine rack. We got the matching dishwasher with three shelves. It's great too. I love the modern look, and the handles grip better than the LG and look sharp. I included some pictures so you can see the refrigerator in use. I know I wish I had more pictures before I made my buying decision. Obviously we don't organize our groceries well but you can see that this refrigerator really packs a lot of food in it

I was shocked the first time I saw the interior of this refrigerator with the LED lighting. Even though the refrigerator is now full, I still can see the contents much easier than my prior Samsung. Might mean I won't have "science experiments" at the back of the refrigerator.

Good fridge for the price but needs improvement.

Happy with the fridge except the ice cubes do not seperate when dumped into the bin and the freezer light switch keeps freezing in the off position. The fresh produce bins are a very cheap plastic and you must be very careful not to put very much weight in them or the slides will break, our old kitchen aid had the same problem.

I'm very disappointed with this fridge

I bought this refrigerator on November 2015. I selected this fridge because I've always associated kitchen aid with quality and great workmanship. I've owned a kitchen aid dishwasher, refurbished, that performed very well for about 13 years and a mixer that I've had for over 20 years and never gave me a problem. Not so with this fridge. It has been nothing but trouble. In the less than the 3 years I have owned it, it's has had 4 service calls to repair it because it just stopped working. The first call was before it was a year old and still under the manufacturer's warranty. Each time the fridge just stopped woking and I usually lost everything in the refrigerator part and once I had to throw everything in the freezer because it defrosted overnight and I didn't discover it until it was too late. I paid $2200 for a piece of junk that will not stay working. I'll probably buy another one in the next year or so and it definitely will not be a kitchen aid or whirlpool.

Such a "cool" fridge!

I decided to try a fridge with freezer on bottom. We had a side by side and it was cramped for storage. The feature I really like is only having to open one side of the fridge to get milk, butter, fruit, or basics. This helps to keep things going cold and not having to loose cool temps. The bottom freezer is just right for us and easy access. We find that the upper space is used more often, so having it above is pretty cool.

We bought this model a month ago after researching other brands. Reliable models seem to be at a premium. After reading reviews about noisy models this one is quiet. I like the glass shelf that folds in half for taller beverages. The ice maker arm in the freezer section which gauges how much ice is in the bin sometimes pushes a couple of cubes out and to the bottom of the freezer when you pull the ice drawer forward.

Almost perfect

I bought this after my LG fridge died. It had in-door water and ice. I didn't like that so that is one reason I picked this model. It therefore had more storage on the door. The curvature of the shelving however means fewer items can be stored on each shelf ( hence only 4 stars). On the whole it is better designed than the LG. I like the full width pull out meat tray.

I love this refrigerator. It had everything I wanted. Ice maker in freezer, check. Slide away half shelf, check. Water dispenser on the inside of fridge, check. Spacious, check. Door alarm, check. And I love the look, white outside with chrome accents. But the freezer door has a design flaw. It disengages a full 2" on the left side before the right side follows. Customer service was really great to work with. They sent 4 replacements, but all did the same thing. Then they sent a repairman out. The problem is the rails that the freezer door glides out on, one side had teeth all the way back and the other side was smooth the first 2" then had teeth for the remaining. Not a huge problem, and if you're right handed you might never notice it. But if you don't pull the freezer handle out dead center or to the right, it will do this.

I bought this a month ago and absolutely love it. First I bought the Kitchen Aid dishwasher, because my dishwasher broke. I was so impressed with the dishwasher that I decided to buy the refrigerator. It is awesome. So big, roomy, well thought out. It is the cadillac of refrigerators. We do not miss the outside water dispenser at all. The interior dispenser is convenient and very cold.
