Bought this new and like most that review with less than a year usage, it was wonderful. Fast forward to first year over and no longer under warranty and you realize the honeymoon is over. Good points - It cleans well, looks good and is very quiet. However.... First it was the burnt smell, which we narrowed down to the drying cycle. Stopped using the drying cycle as it never really worked anyways. 2'nd - water accumulating in the bottom. No big deal, just hit the drain cycle manually. 3'rd - Pieces of the racks falling off. Brittle plastic broke the first time we moved it. 4'th - burning smell back and no longer pumps water out at all. Bought and replaced drain pump motor and it still will not work. Checked hose, drains, control board fuses. Basically anything I can check before calling a repair company, which I now need to do. Want them to diagnose and me to purchase and replace the part. At least it easy enough to replace parts yourself. So, we have been in our new house we built for just shy of 3 years and I have already had to fully replace a KitchenAid microwave and now a fix or replace a dishwasher.The microwave was a 6 month ordeal, (KitchenAid cancelled the warranty request as they did not have the part. They did not bother to inform myself or the repair company, they just flat out closed the claim and hoped I would go away. 6 months later I finally got them to come good on replacing it.) Microwave was 6 months old when it quit. Lousy products and even worse customer service.

Probably fine if you never use the heated drying. The plastic they use for the wheels don't seem to stand up to the heat. We spent about $250 to replace the wheel assemblies since parts were covered under warranty but labor wasn't.

This dishwasher has two major design flaws not worthy KitchenAid brand. Firstly, it is louder than specification. I bought it mainly for looks and quietness. Per specs it should be 2-3 times less loud than my other luxury brand dishwasher rated at 50 dB. Actually it is slightly louder. Secondly it does not drain completely after the program. You need to separately drain it. If you will forget, you will have a sewer like stink after few days if you do not use it daily. We had it checked by Whirlpool technician and told everything is up to specifications. We thought we are buying a Lexus of appliances, but it is more like a Mercury.

I bought this dishwasher as part of an overall Kitchen Aid package. Since installation the dishwasher has worked great, when it's on you can barely hear it running. The dishes also come out clean as we had pots with some burnt tomatoe sauce come and grease free. This is definitely worth the money.

I bought this a few months ago, and it is working fine. I am not happy with the way the racks move in and out..... very bumpy, and sometimes get stuck and I have to re align them. When I purchased, it sounded like I was getting this top of the line dish washer, it's no better than the old one I replaced.

This dishwasher works well, and does so silently. I have an open floor plan in my house and if I am entertaining I do not have to worry about running a load while guests are over. There is no hum or chatter to distract us.

This is the quietest dishwasher I've ever owned. And it's pretty. It replaced an old Maytag that was loud but cleaned great and had a lot of adjustable racks. This KitchenAid doesn't seem to clean as well. It also has nearly no adjustable racks (except for stemmed wine glasses) so there are so places specifically designed for bowls; it is very problematic placing bowls in the racks which lead to very inefficient use of the space and low quantity of items in a load. It seems the lower rack was designed with only flat plates in mind. The touch controls on the top edge of the door make for a very minimalistic exterior design but are impractical; we accidentally touch the controls every time we close the door. We bought this because we already had the matching range, which we love.

This dishwasher is the quietest dishwasher we have ever owned. The variety of cycles can be a little confusing at first to select from and the heavy duty cycle takes quite a bit longer than one would expect. The interface of the soap dispenser door and the top rack in the lower position can cause the door to not fully open and allow some unused soap residue to accumulate.

This is the best dishwasher I've had. It is super quiet and cleans my dishes better than any other brand, i.e. Whirlpool, GE, & Maytag. The cycle time runs a little longer than other dishwasher's I've owned but that doesn't bother me in the least since you can't hear it running anyhow. I highly recommend this item to anyone who wants a great dishwasher.

I bought this Kitchen Aid instead of another brand specifically because it had a heat dryer; I wanted to be sure water didn't stay pooled in the bottom of cups and glasses --- but it does; even if I leave them to dry overnight and even with using jet dry. The repairman said it's because of the energy efficiency features, but it's very frustrating to get water on your clean dishes if you forget and pull out the cup rack first. The dishwasher is very quiet, I'll give it that, but these energy efficient appliances aren't as good as the old ones! I might as well have bought the other brand without the heat dryer.

This machine cleans dishes and glasses beautifully- so much better than my last machine. I like the cycle options although have found that most of the cycles take quite a long time. I wish I had measured up carefully because I did not realize that it would not take my largest dinner plates unless I remove the cutlery tray at the top and raise the top basket- but glad there is the option to do this.

Have been using this beauty for 2 months. Love using the 3rd level cutlery rack but you can remove it & then you'd have even more room for adjusting the upper rack. It cleans very well, but DOESN'T DRY well especially if you have plastic ware -the water collects on top or in the rims & doesn't evaporate even though I ALWAYS use the heat dry option. Overall, I am happy with the D/W.

I have had this dishwasher for a couple of months now and am very happy with it. It looks great, feels very sturdy. It cleans the dishes well. Kitchenaid also changed the utensil caddy and made the covers that space out the utensils more sturdy and attached better to the basket. I was very happy to see that. The one challenge I faced was finding a soap that worked well in it. Some of the pods, including the one recommended by Kitchenaid did not dissolve well and I found clumps of soap on the dishes. I wound up using a green brand that makes the soap in the pouches and that works well. Similarly, I have found the heat dry not quite as dry as I wish it was but after trying a couple of rinse aids I have settled on one that I am happy with. I do love the third level pull out. I have a four year old so a lot of small sippy cup parts, plus spatulas work great up there. Really love the organization of this dishwasher. And it is very quiet too.

I bought this in December as a Christmas gift. The product cleans well but only marginally better than the unit it replaced. The third rack is a nice option for silver ware but at the expense of upper rack space. The unit is advertised as being able to handle 15 place setting. The setting must be small and no more than 4 pieces per setting. My biggest complaint with this model is it's ability to dry the dishes. I have done what the manual reccomends but things are never completely dry. If there is a place where water can accumulate during the cleaning process it will be there still after the heated dry.

I've had this dishwasher about 3 months and only have one problem - it's SO QUITE I don't know if it is running or not! Can you have a better problem?? I LOVE the quite run, the EXCELLENT and spotless cleaning, and the clean look on the front. Fingerprints easily wipe away with a microfiber cloth - it's JUST PERFECT! There is no way I would ever choose another brand! I'm super happy!

Purchased in March 2014. This is the best dishwasher I ever owned. Very Very Quiet. Extremely Quiet. Does a great job cleaning. Third rack and adjustable second rack top end features. Like other stainless steel interiors we must use a rinse aid in our area because of the hard water. I am so glad I purchased a unit with a front handle. Comes in handy; not many have this anymore. Controls are easy to understand. My only complaint is that like most energy efficient units it doesn't completely dry contents unless they sit overnight. But the water I save per wash makes that easy to overcome. I don't know what the long term reliability will be yet at this time could definitely say that I would not hesitate to purchase another KitchenAid appliance
