Spend a good amount of $$ on this unit to replace the builder unit that came in our house. Bought it for the name brand as well as its quiet features. It is quiet and it does a good job cleaning. HOWEVER. The plastic parts are CHEAP. Ive had to replace the wheels on the top rack multiple times as they just break off, not sure why they went with such cheap plastic parts for the upper tray.

I bought this dishwasher 4.5 years ago, it has since taken a dive. Previous kitchenaid dishwasher lasted 14 years. Service technician came out replaced the boards and touch panel. Since then the tech has been out 3 times due to it shutting down and "freezing" when it kicks over to heat dry. Power connection was redone, wires look in tact. As long as I don't allow it to go into heat dry, it still washes dishes and is very quiet, however, I'm disappointed. That it's had as many issues.

We have had the control panel replaced under warranty within the first 8 months. We have had water leaks. The new control has been in for 2 years now and we still have problems where it freezes and won't turn on . It just beeps/

This gets my dishes clean. But I am replacing the top rack adjuster housing/wheel for the 3rd time in 4 years. It is an easy part to replace, but costs between $25 and $35 to DIY. It is an integral part that keeps breaking - the plastic tabs that hold the wheel on the top rack, so if you don't replace it, you are continually pulling the top rack off the rails. AND - you apparently can't just replace the plastic tab that holds the wheel on, you have to replace the entire adjuster because it is one solid piece of plastic.

Have had the unit for one year. Generally it is satisfactory. Not electronic or technical problems. what I don't.like is that thelastic cutlery supports never stay put. They appear not to fit properly, and thus they always fall in. The other thing that I am not happy with is the quality of the cleaning on the t rack. When you use the double shelves( for small cups), thetop row are always dirty!

We've had it about 8 months and love it. Almost everything about it says it is quality made and it is super quiet, which is great for open concept homes. The only negative is the utensil holders which are made from soft plastic. The problem is that the tops with the holes in them keep coming off. We would have gladly paid an extra $10 or $20 to have these be as good as the rest of the machine. It is annoying but worth living with, given the other features.

We have had this for about a year now...odd we are getting this now...we don't find that the dishwasher cleans as good as our old one especially the top rack..the bottom cleans ok but I do find that the rack falls off sometimes as you move it in and out and the wire racks aren't as strong as our old one. It is quieter than the old one.

I'm pleased to own a dishwasher that can be run so energy efficiently -- even as an average load takes 2.5 hours to cycle through. Dishes are sparkling clean. That said, in 48 years of dishwashers, I've never had one as sensitive as this one. A Normal Cycle can stop and/or start if someone simply stands in front of it. There's no worry about pressing the buttons, as you have to press firmly to begin the cycles. Once it's on, though, it can stop for seemingly no reason. In the ten months that it's been in place, I have probably double cycled 15 loads of dishes, because I haven't known where in the cycle it has stopped running. At the same time, a half empty load waiting to be fully loaded can Start for seemingly no reason. Very strange indeed! I certainly wish I'd selected another dishwasher.

We were without a dishwasher for three months. When we had this one installed, we were overjoyed. Not only did it wash and dry in a manner not had before in any of our previous dishwashers but we could not tell by the sound if it was on or not. We have had friends ask about it and we give it a great rating.

I am enjoying my new kitchenaid dishwasher....it is so quiet that I have to really listen to be sure that it has actually started running. I have been finding that the control panel is extremely sensitive. When I lean against the counter as I'm working I often find that I've accidentally activated one of the buttons.

We bought this dishwasher and really love that it washes and dries dishes so well. Don't have to rinse everything before they go in. Wish that it had a rinse only cycle for soiled dishes but not a full load to run yet. Had trouble after about 6 months with broken rollers on the top rack, but under warranty they were sent to us free of charge.

I can't believe how quiet my Kitchenaid dishwasher is! Sometimes I have to put my ear to it to determine if it is running or not! It does a great job of washing dishes and I love how it looks in my kitchen. It is the best dishwasher I have ever had--this is my 4th or 5th one!

The control panel was defective as soon as the dishwasher was installed. It was replaced, but it is so sensitive that I ALWAYS have to have the control lock on otherwise the dishwasher just starts up - even if I am standing near it!!!

My 12 year old dishwasher finally bit the dust. We were so lucky spot an add for this Kitchenaid with stainless steel tub. We wanted a "quiet dishwasher". If you are not looking at it to see the "lights", you would think it wasn't on. Love the organization of the interior space as well. It easily holds so much more than other dishwashers we looked at. We couldn't be more pleased.

I bought this a month a ago and so far it seems to clean the dishes great. Be careful of foreign objects (like toothpicks) left on dishes. They can clog the drain and cause a lot of noises to the machine.

I bought this dishwasher about 2 months ago. It does a really great job of cleaning my dishes, which is what I have come to expect from Kitchen Aid. To my unexpected delight, I had to mute the TV when I first got it to make sure it was even on! Big bonus, since my living room is right off the kitchen. I love how quiet it is--unlike my old dishwasher. It does a good job of cleaning, but it has one annoying design feature: You cannot open it without inadvertenly pushing one or more of the control buttons ( which are very hard to read without a flashlight!). So when I want to wash a load, invariably the Heat Dry option has been turned on and I have to turn it off before I hit start--almost every time. It needs a REAL handle to open and close it, not a "slot". I like the green light that goes on when the load is done. I partially open the door at that point and let the dishes air dry.

This dishwasher passes the quiet test with flying colors, when it is running you have to put your ear by the machine to make sure it is on. The dishes come out sparkling clean, we couldn't be happier.

I am very pleased with the design, cleaning power, water thriftiness, and quietness of our new KitchenAid Dishwasher. I run it without the heated dry cycle and still dishes are hot, dry and free of spots when done. We replaced a 25 year old KitchenAid Dishwasher that finally stopped working. The new one is much improved in all respects. I hope it lasts as long!

Good bang for your buck with this product. I hate to sound like a commercial but it really does work well with the new cascade gel pouches. Hassle-free, easy and clean dishes. No more need to scratch off dry food or residue from dishes. The new design of the dish racks and silverware basket are also very nice. So far so good, happy customer here.

This is not the dishwasher we originally intended to purchase, the salesman showed us the features and the comparable pricing for the features and the decision was made. The installation went smooth and we have loved it ever since. The dishes stack in nicely and the room for more dishes is surprising. The only way I know it is running is when we turn out the lights in the house there is a blue glow from the lights on the panel during operation, so nice not to have to turn the sound on the TV up while it is working.

Bought this because Made in America Its quiet, but does a horrible job drying. Tub, racks and some items stay wet. Had service tech out, said my water wasn't hot enough. Bought a new hot water tank, still doesn't dry like my old Maytag. Wish I would of bought new racks for my 14 year old Maytag or a different brand that could dry better than this one.

The button functions on the front are difficult to use since they are pressure sensitive and not mechanical. One must understand that each button must sometimes be pressed two times. One must always understand that the lock control button must always be used because someone brushing up against the panel can either stop or start the unit. Other than that design flaw, in my opinion, the unit works perfectly and quietly.
