Does not clean well at all.

This dishwasher came new in a home we purchased in 2012, along with a suite of other KitchenAid appliances. The other appliances work fine. In this short time, we have had the electronics board replaced and twice replaced the top rack roller wheel bracket system because they deteriorated and broke. The primary problem, however, is that the dishwasher just doesn't clean the dishes well at all. We are always rewashing items afterwards (yes, we clean off and rinse the dishes before they go in the dishwasher). Now, we are finding ourselves contemplating spending money and purchasing a new dishwasher when this model should have still been functioning at a high level. Very frustrating.

Doesn't actually wash dishes well.

Came with the house we just purchased. Looks good, but doesn't actually wash dishes well! Lots of the dishes don't come clean. I've taken it apart and cleaned the different moving parts, run empty cycles through it, and everything else I can think of, but still nothing comes really clean. It's also a little loud, and the buttons don't really light up well - the panel is confusing to use. What's the point of buying a top-of-the-line dishwasher if it doesn't actually clean well and it's hard to use? I'm throwing it away and a new GE model is being delivered in two days, and I can't wait. What a piece of junk.

Started to smoke then died

Had for less then 4 years, came with our new house. Cleaned Ok. Fairly quite. Didn't dry all that well. Heard a few pops, tried to investigate, smelled what I thought was burning plastic, couldn't find anything, noticed smoke coming out of the side vent, now won't turn on. Avoid, will not buy again.

Great until it caught on fire

Owned 4 years. After 2 had to replace the blades and assembly because the family didn't rinse plates well. After 4 years it caught on fire. Kitchen aid replaced the burnt parts for free. Good idea. Runs quietly. Cleans stuff like it is supposed to. Good layout for dishes etc. Nice look. Easy to use

dissapointed with this product

Bought 2 of these dishwashers 3 years ago.. the racks broke, the wheels broke, and now new of the them the repair guy said the motor is broken and needs replacement and its best to buy a new one...I use the dishwashers not more than 3 times a week.. for one of them to crash in 3 years is very disappointing.. these are expensive dishwashers.. I need to get the exact model so it matches my other one, but the model is dis continued?? what is the closest replacement. He said it would be $425.00 to replace just the motor!! and I can get a new one for around $700.00 but I cant find it anywhere?!?! Can you'll help??

Not what we hoped for

We bought this dishwasher 4 years ago for our new home. Since that time we have spent approx. $600 in repairs for new racks/brackets (plastic parts for the top rack kept breaking). Now our top rack is no longer cleaning. At this point, I'm thinking we cut our losses and look for a replacement rather than pay for more repairs.

It seems that every 6 months we are required to replace the wheels as they seem to break / dissolve. Now we are dealing with a leak and the screen that covers the blade is dissolving.

Upper Rack Problem

The dishwasher upper rack has been an issue about 8 months after purchase. The parts are plastic and have broken. I too found out that they would not cover under warranty. Had to purchase parts in order to conveniently use the product properly. Hopefully, they will fix this issue with future products and gain back customer confidence.

AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!

We bought our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS30FXSS5 3 years ago. It cleaned dishes very good for about the first year, then we started noticing that our dishes weren't getting clean anymore. Since then we have tried all sorts of recommendations. But nothing has worked. We've also has problems with the control panel losing power. Luckily, this issue is well known and we found that by toggling the circuit breakers (on our electrical panel) back and forth, this somehow brings the power back on. In summary- Too much pain owning this product. We wished we never bought it and are currently shopping for a replacement.

The upper rack has adjustable dividers including a divider that snaps down to support wine glass stems I can load more dishes. I love the look of this dishwasher and love that it is very quiet. I also love the fact that the upper rack is adjustable for very tall water bottles. My only disappointment is that it does not completely clean the cutlery and I end up having to clean them by hand in some cases. It also seems to be discoloring on the inside of the door.

We bought this dishwasher about 6 months ago and have been very pleased with it. It's easy to use, its design allows loading many dishes of varying shapes and sizes, and it gets the job done well. I love the pro scrub feature which cleans baked on food very easily. Dishes come out clean, and it's nice and quiet. No complaints and no problems whatsoever. We use the child lock regularly to avoid inadvertently starting a cycle.

Super quiet dish washer.

This is my second KitchenAid dish washer and the first one lasted over 30 years and although it still worked we decided that it was time to change it as we did not know when it would stop working and would prefer to to the change when it was convenient for us. The new one was so quiet we did not know when it was running, and more energy efficient. Our old one had all the controls on the front door and very difficult to clean, the new one controls were in the frame of the door and touch sensitive.

Cleans up well!

We bought this in May 2014 and now in Dec 2014 have had no problems. Originally, we did not have a hard water softener and we were noticing a bit of buildup, once we had the hard water softener installed, the machine comes beautifully clean as do our dishes and glassware. I like the option to delay for a few hours as we're going to bed but the machine is very quiet and can be run right after dinner without interrupting our evening.

Real Happy with our Kitchen Aid diswasher purchase.

I bought this 8 months ago and have been very happy with it. We have used all the features on it and all are exceptional. The dishes are sparkling. When the washer is running you can barely hear it and the 4 hour delay allows us to put it on in the night and save on high peak electricity rates.

Quiet, you don't even know it's on.....

I bought my dishwasher a year ago and it's fantastic, I couldn't be happier. It's so quiet, the inside tub doesn't smell and it cleans dishes beautifully. The only thing is the cutlery rack they don't stay in place it keeps falling into the actually basket of the cutlery. Other than that a fantastic dishwasher.

We bought this model to replace e our old KA model that was over 25 years old already. The old one finally leaked to its death. This new model is so quiet that we can barely hear it running while standing a few feet away from it. And the timing was right because Lowes had a sale on them that was 50% off regular price. So this was the best $600 we have ever spent. It washes e erything. completely clean every time. Definitely recommend this product.

Excellent product for the price we paid

We bought this dishwasher about six months ago and we are very happy with how clean the dishes come out after the wash cycle. We hardly ever have to re-wash any dish, even the most stubborn stains are clean after the first wash.
