I bought a couple of months ago. washes the dishes really well, even cleans stuck on food. Extremely quiet. Use the control lock, otherwise brushing past it, reaching to cupboards and hitting the control buttons, can turn it on. Runs alot longer in cycles than I was used to. Start in evening and put dishes away next day. Only way to tolerate the long cycles.

I find often find myself starting and/ or stopping a cycle inadvertently when I am working at the counter above my dishwasher, or reaching in the cabinet above to get something. I therefore keep the unit just a little ajar all the time when it's off, and staying away from the unit when it's on (the cycles are very long). In a cruel twist of irony, the buttons don't seem sensitive enough when I actually try to press them with my finger!! In addition, I'm trying to get used to the new "high energy efficiency", which translates into less drying power. My 30-yr old Kitchen Aid dishwasher dried dishes better than this unit. I suspect, however, that this may be the case with all new dishwashers in the US, thanks to the new efficiency standards.(Hint: first prime the hot water at the sink before turning the dishwasher on.)

Really happy with my choice of a Kitchen Aid, debated between this and a European model but likes the extra room in the Kitchen Aid. Cleans great and so quiet in our open space. Can't even tell it is running! Only complaint, I love the silverware holders but they don't stay inn place.

Our 17 year old dishwasher finally quit. My wife and I had to re-educated ourselves as we started our search for a new dishwasher. The things that were most important to us were; 1) It must get the dishes clean and not require we rinse them prior to putting into the dishwasher. 2) No cleaning (must have a food chopper - no screen) 3) Quiet operation 3) Cycle delay option We love our new dishwasher - It does a great job cleaning the dishes, it chops food particles and rinses them out through the drain. The machine is very quite and caused us to stand by and listen to ensure it was actually cycling. The only thing we aren't real crazy about it the delay option. The machine has one delay option which is a 4 hour delay. We would like a 1 hour delay option or better yet, an option to set the delay time. The reality is, the machine is so quiet we have just started to run it whenever it is needed. We are very satisfied with this purchase and would recommend this product.

Love the new version of an old favorite! Started out in the late 70s with your Superba in a convertible. Was built in during a remodel in 1982. In 90's (?)replaced with another same. At 9 & some years replaced by you due to small puncture in tub while still under warranty! That replacement is still running & was given to a friend as we chose a new color for a current kitchen remodel. Never considered any other brand! Always got all contents super clean, & new one is extremely quiet.

I used the same dishwasher for 17 years and just recently upgraded to this Kitchenaid. WOW! Unbelievably quiet and cleans like crazy! I used my previous machine to lull me to sleep at night. I know, I know...most people use their TV's to do that. Yes, it was loud. LOL! I'll be shopping for a new refrigerator soon. Kitchenaid will definitely be on the top of my research list when I begin my quest.

I have been very disappointed in the performance of this dishwasher. At first it left a film all over my china and silverware, which the repairman said was caused by using the "pod" detergent packets that were included when it arrived. (Note: I was advised that these should NOT be used in areas that have soft water). I follow the loading instructions, but food residue is still left on my dishes and silverware after running the Hi-Temp Scrub, Sani-Rinse, and Heat Dry....and I pre-rinse all of my dishes before loading and add a cup of vinegar! I have not used the Pro-Scrub feature as it seems to be for pots and pans, and I wash those by hand. I waited for years to buy a new dishwasher and did my research but, alas, it has not worked out.....

This dishwasher is very easy to use,and load. It does still seems loud at times. One of the things I thought I would really like about it, is the touch buttons. But they are so sensitive that they come on even when you don't want them to.just by brushing up against it. I would recommend this product.

I have had this dishwasher in my home for 2 months and use it at least twice per week. It holds way more dishes than the last washer we had and is so quiet it is hard to know if it is on. The dishes come out clean every time so far. Make sure you put the lock on or else the buttons will press when you lean against the counter tops.

This product so far has been great except for not cleaning knives. Especially if there's peanut butter left on the knife. But other than that, I have been very satisfied! I've always had KitchenAid diswashers and have been very happy. Also, the noise level is so low and I really appreciate that as the dishwasher is in the island. Thank you!

The cancel/drain button easily gets turned on by bumping. The front right bottom corner doesn't clean as well as my old kitchen aid dishwasher.

This is an excellent dishwasher for the price. Very quiet...not quite as quiet as some of the very expensive models, but perfectly acceptable for us. The stainless steel interior is a bonus at this price point, and it is deeper with more versatile baskets than the more expensive Bosch. With free delivery and installation (with store and KitchenAid mail in rebates), it was the best deal I could find online or in stores.

I don't like the touch controls on the front panel because when you inadvertently lean against them, they turn on. Also, I would rather have the silverware basket across the front in stead of along the side so that it is more easily accessible when you open the door. With this current design, you have to open the door fully and pull out the bottom tray to reach the basket.

Versatile, can hold lots of dirty dishes of various sizes and shapes. The upper basket can be raised or lowered depending on sizes of dishes to be washed. However, the mechanism for raising and lowering the upper basket prevents baking sheets and racks from fitting vertically along the sides of the lower basket. By lowering some of the tines in either the upper or lower baskets, baking sheets and racks can fit at a sloping angle, but then they take up more area and limit how much else can be loaded. This is the only negative aspect; otherwise, it's a great machine. We are glad we purchased it.

I was surprised to discover how long it takes to run a full cycle, much longer than our old Kitchen Aid. I like many features of this machine, including the stainless steel interior and the positioning of the racks and silverware tray. The one big disadvantage is how hard it is to add an item after the cycle has started. Another drawback is the lack of a timer/delayed start on this unit.
