Not worth the price

We were originally very happy with this dishwasher when we purchased it new in 2011, it was really quiet and did a great job. But soon after we bought it we started replacing parts: rollers, rack mounts, and other annoyances. And now a clip on the control panel has broken off (so every time you open the door the control panel comes off -- it is nearly $150 for just that part). The dishwasher has mysteriously started or stopped frequently over the past several years. We've just gotten used to that, as well as the need to ensure the seals stay in place when opening and closing the doors (the rubber keeps falling out, or the racks catch the seal and pull it out when they slide out). Over the 7 years we've owned this appliance we've paid for half of it again in replacement parts. No wonder it is getting such low reviews! Other models may be worth the price, but we should have removed this one they year we bought it.

Poor quality dishwasher

I bought my dishwasher in 2013 prior to doing a remodel of my kitchen. It has been in use since 2014. All of my older appliances had been Kitchenaid so I purchased the Kitchenaid brand for its quality reputation. The door has rusted under the pocket handle and on the bottom. It does not dry well. In the beginning I used the recommended Cascade pods and it caused all my glassware to be etched with white film. Finally I changed to the cascade gel and my glassware comes out clean now but I could never remove the etching from other glassware. Had to buy new glasses. I purchased 5 yr warranty. The gasket is faulty and will be replaced. Once that is done I will donate this dishwasher and purchase a new one-not a Kitchenaid. This Kitchenaid product and my Kitchenaid freestanding range purchased at the same time are very poor quality. I will never purchase another Kitchenaid product.

Nothing but a paperweight

I bought this dishwasher in 2012 because it was a Kitchenaid and that meant quality to me. In the past two years I've had to replace the control board twice and it has now failed a third time. This is nothing more than a paperweight. Even when it worked there were items that needed to be re-washed. It was quiet, but that was the only saving grace for it. I'll never buy another Kitchenaid appliance again.
