Much better than our Bosch

After having numrous problems with a new Bosch dishwasher, we moved that to a rental property and bought the kitchenaid. After more than a two years, we can say that we still really like it. We have had a problem with a broken bracket on the upper rack, and the warrantee covered the part and promptly sent it out.

would not buy again

we have had this washer for about 5 years and would not buy it again. The washer is quite and washed well but we had nothing but issues with it. The control panel went bad in about 2 months but was replaced under warrantee. and then a bout 2 years the front cover started to bubble up and the white coating started to chip off. (was told by kitchenaid "sorry that's not under warrantee"). now just past the chip more of the door is all bubbled up. The clips on the draw needed to be replaced but was also fixed under warrantee. Then finally the screen at the bottom of the machine at the bottom of the machine broke and was ingested by the machine. Now the machine is very loud and will not clean the dishes. I will be going out today to purchase a new machine but it will not be a kitchenaid.

Great cleaning with Cascade Platinum

The top plastic rollers keepers did not last long . I replaced them with stainless steel short carriage bolts & locking nuts. The washer cleaned fine four years,then it failed to clean properly.After some troubleshooting I found the chopper assy. was never engaged in the drive.I purchased a new chopper assy.and install it, The only reason it lasted so long, we rinsed our dishes before washing.hopper .

Very disappointed in this product...

AT first I really liked this product. Wheels on top rack disintegrated. Service told us to be careful because they were very cheaply made. Happened again. Same advice. When we bought, fortunately we bought an extended warranty. The top rack of dishes was not getting cleaned. Service people told us to put a bowl of vinegar in the dishwasher and the vinegar would un-clog the upper rack. Didn't happen. Technician came out and we think put in a new strainer motor, but then returned to reclaim the part, and we were told that we would get a store credit for a new dishwasher and that it could not be repaired. We are now faced with paying more for a lessor quality dishwasher after 3 years. We replaced all of our appliances with Kitchen-Aide. Had nightmares with the gas stove valves. AM disappointed we went with Kitchen-AIde.

I bought this dishwasher about 2 years ago. We use it only once a week for a 1-hour wash cycle and no heat dry. Even with this light use the silverware tray fell apart. I asked Kitchenaid to replace it and they refused.

Was great until warranty expired! Now at 16 months old it needs a major repair. I've owned good Kitchen Aid products in the past but am totally disappointed in the lack of durability of this dishwasher. Will not buy another Kithen Aid dishwasher or product again! When we purchased this unit we expected more a lot more from Kitchen Aid!

Poorly Constructed - Don't Buy

My husband and I bought this machine in Jan. 2011. The plastic parts disintegrated on the top rack and the electronics went out on it so only the 1 hour cycle works now. We've replaced and repaired in along the way. Too expensive for the quality. When it works, it cleans well and is quiet, but not a good value for your money. We are not heavy users of the machine either. We bought a new dishwasher tonight from another manufacturer.

I bought this in 2013 and first the top rack broke. everything on the rack is plastic. it is gently used as it is just my wife and I. Now the control board is malfunctioning and wont open the water valve. $200+ repair on a 2 year old appliance. Don't buy this!

This dishwasher is quiet & does a great cleaning job. Overall I'm very happy this being my second KitchenAid. There are a few things like the access panel and the racks that don't seem as sturdy or have the quality of my previous dishwasher....perhaps a sign of the times in manufacturing (hence the "good" rating which I'd rate as" very good" or 4.5 stars if possible). How long it lasts (17 years on my 1st KitchenAid) will be the true determining factor.

This is the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. You really have to listen carefully to hear it running. Bowls on the top rack often come out dirty. I'll give the unit the benefit of the doubt and say it might be the way I'm stacking the dishes. Trying different arrangements. One other thing that I do not like are the controls on the top. The salesman was adamant I would love that arrangement. I do not. I find the controls often getting activated with just the slightest touch when I close the door. I guess I have to learn to be more careful. But if I could do it over, I would want the buttons on the front.

The results that you get from the Kitchenaid Dishwasher tells the story. I love how quiet it is and how much room there is to put lots of dishware. Love the new touch pad electronics and it looks beautiful in my kitchen. Wish I had bought Kitchenaid sooner, but now I have it. I also have other items by Kitchenaid; coffee maker, grinder, blender, Mixer and hand mixer. Love you Kitchenaid!

We've had this dishwasher for a little over a year and while it does a good job cleaning, I have had to replace the roller wheels on the upper rack 3 times. At about $30.00 a time the upkeep on this dishwasher makes it a poor buy. The sad thing is The company has to be aware of this design flaw from reading other comments on this issue. I wish we had found these comments before we bought this.

My husband and I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher a few months ago and I absolutely LOVE it! I would get it in the upper back standing at the sink doing dishes the old-fashioned way and sometimes would even lay down on the kitchen floor to stretch my back out so I could continue! I love how quiet this dishwasher is and it really does get dishes clean. I love that the silverware rack is on the side and can be removed. I have not yet tried a cycle with the ProScrub option but I am hoping its great. I very much like having the cycle buttons on the top.

It was time to finally replace dishwasher that was originally installed when the house was built. It was loud so we never ran it when we wanted to watch TV. Then we would forget to start it before going to bed. Pros: - This Dishwasher is super quiet. We hardly notice it when watching TV or having quiet family time. - If we really want it quiet, this machine has a 4 hour delay, so we can set it after dinner and it will run after we go to bed. - The button panel is at the top so it's hidden from our 2 year old when the door is closed. (He was constantly starting/stopping our old dishwasher when we weren't looking). - We love that the top rack is height adjustable. - Did I already mention how quiet it is? Cons: - The buttons are sensitive, so walking by it when the door is open may activate some buttons. I have to remember to check and make sure everything is cleared before closing the door when I don't want to run it yet. - I don't like the caps/doors (or whatever you would call them) on top of the silverware tray. I took them off. They just get in the way and when you leave them open, they just take up extra space that silverware can use. - Plastics never really completely dry (however, I have heard pretty much all dishwashers are this way). - The cycle seems to take FOREVER to complete (I hear the same complaint regarding all of the newer dishwashers these days, that are supposed to be energy savers).
