MBF1958XEQ Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator Review

Refrigerator/freezer purchased in 2011 - approx. 4 years old. Refrigerator control board failed & required repair technician diagnosis, replacement and defrosting. This is apparently a known issue to appliance repair technicians.Maytag website was virtually useless for troubleshooting. Especially did not like the pro-homosexual "Pride" propaganda plastered all over your website. Maytag needs to focus on its core business and leave the cultural change agenda to the professional agitators. Customer service rep. was not able to provide any meaningful assistance by telephone.I am thoroughly disgusted with the fact that after paying $1100+ for this Maytag appliance - it failed within 4 years. Maytag used to stand for Quality, reliability and long life (MTBF). Multi-national corporations seem to be all about planned obsolescence and leftist political agendas now. When you forget who your customer base is you will eventually pay an economic penalty as customers seek better products and service.

I bought mine back in Dec. I really like the bottom freezer. Since I usually get in the refridgerator more often than the freezer, I really prefer it over instead of bending over all the time to get in the refridgerator.

I've had this fridge for about eight months now. I really love the freezer drawer at the bottom, mainly because it's at the bottom and out of the way (which is great because I rarely use it). The main compartment of the fridge doesn't hold quite as much as you'd think, but the door holds a lot, which kind of makes up for it. The only real complaint I have with the fridge -- and maybe it's not even a complaint but just an observation -- is that every now and then the fridge makes some strange noises ( 1) fizzing and crackling and 2) a clicky motor type of noise). The fridge seems to be operating perfectly so it's possible that the noises I'm hearing are 100% normal. I've just never heard any other fridge make said noises before. They did, however, cause me to purchase the extended warranty just in case...

I needed a new frig and have a specifically size-limited space for it. I also REALLY wanted a bottom freezer style unit. Maytag had what I needed, in the white color I preferred, at a price I could afford, and it works beautifully. I love it.

This is a nice refrigerator. I am pleased with it. I didn't want extra features like through the door ice/water. I only have room for 18 cu' model. It may be a little smaller inside than my old top freezer but it's nice not having to bend down to get to the bottom of the refrigerated top. I've only had it a month. I keep the top on #6 and the bottom on #4 (recommended #). The #6 setting keeps the beverages nice and cold. Hope Maytag has gotten back to the old days of their high Quality. Hope this one lasts 20 years like the Amana did...but probably not as "they" say appliances don't last like they used to. Time will tell.

I bought this refrigerator last November and I love it. I love the bottom freezer. I like the refrig on top cause it's easier to see what you have in the refrigerator and you don't have to bend down to look inside to see what and where you have your food. Also the crisper keeps vegetables longer and fresher and also is runs very quiet. Love this refrigerator and would never buy anything else but this type in the future.

A bottom freezer is great at my age and large capacity. Space and shelving arrangement is not convenient in refrigerator. Metal shelves are preferred and are easier to clean.

I am liking the refrigerator on top more than expected! The bottom freezer has plenty of room I am able to fit most things. I was hoping for quiet after getting rid of my 20-year-old refrigerator, but it does run louder than I expected for a new appliance.

I'm so happy with my new refrigerator. Food stays fresh much longer than it did with my previous ones. I love the capacity of the refrigerator and the fact that I can see everything without bending over and the bottom drawer freezer is so convenient. It looks great also.
