Don't Buy this Unit

Don't buy this refrigerator. I have only had my unit 18 months and it started leaking water underneath the baskets in the freezer unit. I called an appliance repair man and he told me the problem I had was due to a manufacturer default. The drain outlet was plugged. He fixed the refrigerator. I called Maytag this morning and they said it was a problem they had been having with this unit. They offered to pay for the part that needed to be fixed. However, they said the appliance company I used was not in their service agreement. So they will not pay me for the part. In addition to this, the ice maker stopped working a few days ago. So, I guess you could say I am NOT happy with this refrigerator and it is only 18 month old. Guess I will not be purchasing any Maytag products in the future.

Excellent except ice maker shut off

Purchased in Apr 2014, so over a year ago. Like this very much. Shelves solid, but easy to move around. I added one small mesh basket to keep lunch meats in. The only problem we've had is that the trip wire to indicate the ice compartment is full hasn't worked, now is stuck "on" so we have ice production that could satisfy 7-11. Trying to figure out a solution now. But really, otherwise, love this fridge.

We've had this fridge for a couple of months now and it's better than the one we had before. It's no larger in capacity, for which we had limited choices as the available space was tight, but having the freezer on the bottom is nice. The door is hard to open and the stainless front gets smudgy easily.

We bought our refrigerator about three months ago and are quite happy with it. Outwardly, it is elegant and easy to keep clean. Inwardly, same thing: Everything is easy to get to, and we can easily modify the interior space depending on what we're trying to cram in. I didn't know whether I'd actually like a bottom freezer, but it works great and actually makes a lot more sense, and again is easier of access, than our old top freezer. I should say we Value the energy savings, in a refrigerator that manages to keep food fresh and crisp for a long time.

Great improvement over the top freezer fridges

We've had our new Maytag bottom freezer fridge for over a month and I love the accessibility of the upper portion and not needing to bend to see what's inside. Both fridge and freezer have adequate space for my husband and myself. My only complain is that the fridge door swings all the way open unless I physically stop it and apparently there is no way to correct this. Also, it is louder than our previous Kenmore.

Very efficient use of interior space

This one seems so much larger than my old KitchenAid because the storage is so efficient and convenient. I hadn't had a bottom freezer before, and I love it. We bought this fridge five months ago and love it. Our kitchen has rather a small space for a fridge and this fit the space nicely. The fridge can hold a ton of items on the door and keeps them cold. Our old fridge had a problem of ice sticking together in the ice compartment, but this one does not do that, which we appreciate. I have not had much trouble with fingerprints on the stainless steel either. I wipe it about once a week.

My husband and I were searching to replace our old refrigerator with a new one that had a bottom freezer. Unfortunately, our 30 year old home cannot handle the space needed for a french-door with bottom freezer, and it just made our home look cluttered. This Maytag fits in beautifully, still has the bottom freezer, and it very quiet! Although smaller compared to most newer products out there, we really have trouble filling it! So happy with the purchase. And we don't mind that it didn't have a water dispenser since most reviews say those end up breaking anyway!

I like the bottom pullout freezer. Every item is easily accessible. I also like the fact that there is a light in the freezer. The shelves are easy to adjust to whatever suits my needs. I am very well satisfied with my choice.

We remodeled our kitchen and love our new refrigerator. It is quiet and because the freezer is on the bottom it is much easier to look for food. All the food is accessible. We have not changed the factory settings and freezer is very cold. We are pleased with our purchase.

My wife and I love our new Maytag fridge. It looks great, lots of space for our groceries and runs very quiet. We were very surprised at the space we had compared to our old fridge. The ice maker is an added bonus. Great job Maytag!

The dimensions of the unit was perfect for the area under existing kitchen cabinets. Noise level is good, less noisy than our previous refrigerator. Love the freezer. Two drawers make storing and finding items easy. The fruit and vegetable bins are great. We used to loose our strawberries after 2 - 3 days, however they have stayed fresh, firm and unblemished for 7 days this far.Items in the fridge are easier to see and we are tossing less left overs.Love it.

Loving the bottom freezer!!

We love our new refrigerator ... the shelves are spaced perfectly and it holds all that we need it to. But, nothing is as nice as having the bottom freezer!! So much easier and we just love it!!

Good Design but Small

The unit is a great design but it quite small. Freezer drawer is convenient but does not hold a large amount of food. The refrigerator section does not keep a consistent temperature when at the recommended setting so I have to keep it colder than recommended. The split shelve design makes it difficult to put large items on some of the shelves because the brackets under the shelves get in the way. The ice maker and refrigerator are quite loud when they run. I do love the dual digital controls for temperature control. Much better than the single dial control in my last Maytag.
