I really like having the refrigerator on top. It makes it so much easier to see everything and there is no bending. It's also very well lit and I like the way the shelves are arranged and I have the option to move them around- as well as the ones in the door if I want them a different way.The freezer is nice- it is well lit- which is new to me. I do think there is not as much room as in my old freezer and it's kind of tight at times with the pull out drawer feature. And there doesn't seem to be much room at all on the top shelf if you want to keep ice in there. I don't know how this can be improved upon and we are making it work, just wish it was a little bigger and or a little better designed. But we do like the fridge and are happy to have it.

I'm in Heaven! All my food is at eye-level. The door can hold 4 gallons of cold milk, leaving lots of room on the shelves for other items. The ice is crescent-shaped, making it easy to fit into a thermos, etc. This is a very substantial, well-designed frig.

This model has a constantly recurring problem whereby water accumulates on the very bottom of the freezer and freezes into a thick sheet of ice when - if not removed weekly - eventually there is no more room for more water to accumulate so it just puddles onto the floor. Apparently there is no cure for this issue and Maytag is not willing to do anything to resolve the problem. The appliance should be RECALLED!WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WASTE OF MONEY!

We bought our refrigerator a month ago and are very pleased with how it functions. Ice maker works very well. Disappointed that one of the holes on the front for changing the handle to the other side was not covered with a screw like the other one. Doesn't look very good that way.

i like having everything where it is easier to get to. it just seems like the everyday food is all easier to get to everyday and the freezer food is in a better place. oh and there is lots and lots of room in the door for milk or juice and all the things like ketchup and mustard. even though i didn't get water in the door i don't mind since my special water spigot is on the sink and i don't mind dipping in the freezer for the ice. the freezer and fridge are both well lit so i can see. i love the slide out drawers in the freezer.i just love my new refrigerator.

After looking at many options, this one had what we needed at the right price point. It is ROOMY! Having the fridge up top is more convenient in terms of access. We don't need to bend or crouch just to see what's at the back of the fridge. Everything is visible. The freezer is the perfect size. I am impressed at how fast it freezes a bottle of water. The fridge has a smooth finish and gives it a modern look.

knocking noise and water leaks

My fridge isn't even 3 years old. It makes loud knocking sounds and water leaks from the bottom corners. I noticed the whole bottom was iced over so I defrosted and dried it all out. That lasted for 2 weeks. It's back to knocking and leaking. Any ideas???? I have never owned a Maytag product and this may be my last.

Deciding to buy a new black Maytag refrigerator was a great decision. It looks very coordinated with our black front wall oven, cooktop, and dishwasher. I didn't know if I would like the freezer basket since I was used to a hinge door on the bottom freezer compartment, but so far I am pleased with it. It has all the space that my husband and I need.

Very roomy compared to the top mount that retired after 23 years. Like the view of the freezer especially with being short. It makes ice very fast. The door is very roomy. It can hold 4 gallons of tea. A major plus is I have enough room in the top that I never had before with a family of 5. Now with 7 grandchildren staying periodically I have more room than I know what to do with.

There are several note worthy qualities of this refrigerator . Bottom freezer is very easy to use, has ample storage. This unit is quiet without noticeable noise or vibration. The top refrigerator area is easier to access than with the usual refrigerator layout. We recommend this model, a good product at a good price.

I bought this frig about 4 months ago at a scratch and dent place. I paid HALF price for it and yes, there are scratches on the black paint, but that would happen over time anyway. The frig was easy to move in and level, and we love the wide open door, after living with a side/side for 20 years. It seems larger than the side/side but is not. So far, lots of ways to move the shelving around, lots of options for storage and nothing is frozen. Very quiet. too.

We have enjoyed our Maytag refrigerator for several months now. I say "enjoy" for several reasons. Firstly, the spacious, practical layout suits the needs of our large family for storage, visibility and accessibility of food products. Having the freezer space on the bottom of the unit is the most intelligent placement available. One never has to bend (or lie upon the floor!) to view contents of drawers or bottom shelves in the refrigerator compartment. Since I generally use the refrigerator more frequently than the freezer, this is a more convenient layout.The refrigerator does a good job of keeping items uniformly cooled, with one, positive, exception. Meats and items which need to be kept especially cold can be stored in the top of the fridge, near the fan, where they remain a bit colder than anywhere else in the compartment.Because the freezer storage is housed in a drawer, it pulls out and is completely available for viewing and selecting. Freezer space is generous and does a fabulous job of keeping large quantities of food solidly frozen. The freezer drawer glides in and out smoothly, but the initial drag of it is a tad prohibitive to weak little arms, a plus in my book. Overall we are very pleased with this product and would recommend it highly.

We bought this in June of 2014 and have been satisfied with the capacity and interior layout. The exterior is stylish and has set off the new kitchen remodel that had been put off for too many years. The only thing we wish was better was the sound level when running and the ice maker when it is filling with water.

My Maytag refrigerator has ample space for storing and was of a very reasonable cost. I love the bottom freezer because of the easy accessibility to the shelves in the refrigerator. The only thing that bothers me is the compressor noise. My kitchen is part of an open living area and the noise carries everywhere.

I have had this fridge for several months and I am really enjoying it! This fridge is very spacious and allows several options for customization. I love that it is energy star efficient and has a bottom freezer. My only complaint is that sometimes the door can stick due to really good suction and be difficult to open but that's better than the alternative. Overall a great buy.

With the beautiful design and interior layout, this fridge met all expectations. The high pitched hum it emitted for the first two days thankfully stopped. Unfortunately, when it started up again a few weeks later we quickly realized this noise, permeating every room in the house during every compressor cycle, was incompatible with life. When Maytag repairmen came to fix it, we were advised this is the "normal" sound of the compressor. Back to Home Depot it went, replaced with another brand not nearly as handsome, but at least not an unbearable intrusion.

The regrigerator section is large and holds a lot. The freezer, however, doesn't hold much at all. Freezer door is wobbly when opened and makes a high-pitched whistle sound when closed...which is strange. It works, and I guess that makes it acceptable.

We purchased this fridge a few months ago. Delivery was quick and courteous, and very importantly, careful. We had to switch the door handle to the other side ourselves, which was a two-person job. We wish we had been given the option of left or right hand opening. Overall the fridge is quiet enough... once in a while it makes a funny clucking sound. Must be the ice-maker. There is plenty of room for everything. We tend to eat a lot of fresh produce, so it is just a bit lacking in that department. The produce drawer tends to slide completely off the rail when I reach in for something so I am careful to not pull it out too much. The fridge has a really good seal and is probably why the fridge cooled quickly as soon as it was installed. However, this also means that sometimes it is hard to open the fridge without causing it to slide forward a little. We have to push the fridge back in place every so often. Overall, we like the fridge and are getting used to the bottom freezer.

I am thrilled with my new bottom freezer Maytag frig! Everything stays cold in both the freezer and the refrigerator compartments. I love not having to bend into the frig section. Should have bought years ago!

We have had the fridge about two months. So happy with the freezer on the bottom. It makes it so easy with the refrigerator at the eye level. It's the best ever.

This energy saving product is quiet running. I like the ice maker in the bottom freezer. You can stop the ice maker if you have to much ice and start it again when you are low on ice. The lighting in the refrigerator makes finding things easy and is not harsh on the eyes when getting that late night snack. Foods are kept at the right temperature. I would say we are very happy with this product.
