Don't let the exterior fool you. The interior is much larger than you would think with lots of ways to arrange the drawers and shelves. The fridge is very quiet when it is cooling and it has been economic to run. Highly recommend.

Leaks water and damaged the floor

It worked for months but then it started leaking water. When we are not at home to wipe it, the water stays on our bueatiful and expensive floor and now we have blisters!Very disappointing!

Don't buy!

My model is MBF2258XEW4. DO NOT BUY THIS REFRIDGERATOR!I have had mine less than 3 years. The compressor has been replaced twice and then it broke again less than a month after the most recent replacement! Maytag will not replace the refrigerator for me, even though it is obviously a lemon. I have lost tons of food and have been dealing with the headache of this item too many times. I am very frustrated that they will not replace it. I will not buy a Maytag item again! DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM!

Not a long-term fridge

This fridge will be 3 years old in July. The unit had been functioning great until the compressor blew out. There also may be an issue with the refrigerant as well. The repairs and labor estimates are way too much to justify fixing the fridge.I am very disappointed that this fridge is basically dead after 2.5 years of ownership. It could be a fluke but regardless, an appliance of this nature from a company like Maytag should last 10+ years.

plenty of top fridge room

I bought this back in June and I like the Idea of bottom freezer but am disappointed with this fridge. First of all it has a high humming pitch and the pull out drawer is not convenient or large enough. I looked for a door that would open right to left but could not find one. I do like the top fridge part.

OK, but with some reservations

I really like the looks and size of this unit. The upper portion is great and very roomy. Here are the things I do not like about this unit and had I been able to look at it at the store, they didn't have display models and had to order online, I wound not have bought this unit. The door on the top is not an auto closing door and if you leave it open it swings wide open - I am afraid the hinges are going to break - luckily I purchased a 3 year warranty. Bottom freezer - the baskets are not solid and everything falls through the basket part onto the bottom of the freezer. The biggest issue is the ice maker. It makes great ice....however the ice maker bar hangs into the ice and when you pull open the upper basket to access the ice it pulls the ice out and it goes all over the freezer and falls to the bottom. You have to get a yardstick to clean all the ice off the bottom of the freezer every week or so as there is no other way to reach under the lower basket and you also need to go through all the freezer baskets to get the ice out that has been thrown all over. Also....you cannot reach the ice without pulling out the basket so you cannot avoid this problem. Again, if I had seen this in the store I would not have purchased this unit. This is very inconvenient.

This refrigerator is spacious and has a great design. I can move the shelves around to allow for my different storage needs. The door shelves are spacious too. I also love the "refrigerator on top" feature. It is so practical since we use the freezer feature less often.

I have only had it a few months and am really happy with it so far. Lots of room, drawers, and shelves. I like the bottom freezer drawer design and the ice maker is great too. My electrical bill has gone down, but I got several new appliances and so am not sure how much is due to the refrigerator, but it must be a significant contributing factor.

We recently bought this refrigerator to replace one that was over 20 years old, so naturally the best feature is that it is much more energy efficient. This is the first refrigerator we owned with a freezer on the bottom and I find that very convenient. The produce drawers keep produce fresh for much longer than in our old fridge. The refrigerator section is very roomy and the freezer is almost as roomy as a deep freezer.

I really enjoy the top fridge more than I even expected. I am so happy with my purchase. If I had a hand in designing the bottom freezer on this I would have made the drawers solid and not basket type and also a bit deeper or something, pizzas wont fit in the drawers really, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Very happy with the refrigerator and love the fridge on top. The freezer is ok but seems to be smaller then my old one. The shelves do adjust very well to fit bigger items. Here is a refrigerator that is big enough for a family. I love the way keeping the space available on the inside of the door actually creates a little "shelf" in the refrigerator main compartment to put things on when moving items around. I would love to have had more door shelves come with the refrigerator but will order more from the manufacturer. I have owned Maytag appliances in the past and have only good things to say about the Quality and long life of these items.

In general, just what I was looking for but it arrived with a basic assembly problem. According to the Service person I had to call, a tube which was supposed to drain condensation into a drip pan had not been connected and I had water on the floor every time the unit went through the auto-defrost cycle.

I prefer the freezer on the bottom fridge. I just need to get a water line hooked up for the ice maker. I looked at all kinds of fridges including the french door style. We have one of those at work and it's a pain having two doors to open in my opinion. This fridge represents simplicity but it has the space and features I need.

I bought this refrigerator to replace and old, small, top freezer refrigerator that was in the house I bought. After reading reviews about how difficult it is to use a bottom freezer drawer I nearly overlooked this model. Yes you have to stack the food in the freezer and it takes a little getting used too but It is really not that hard and I am loving it. No more opening a door and having frozen food fall out, no more getting down on your hands and knees to get things off the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. It is even easier to keep clean. If I had to list a problem it would be remembering to give the fridge door a little extra push to close it. This is a very nice refrigerator freezer. Thank you.
