Quiet and functional

I've had this dishwasher for a while, and it is reliable and functional and best of all it is VERY quiet, even in my small space. I set it on auto (which is the recommended level for optimal energy efficiency) which lasts 2 hours, but I forget it's on while it works. The dishwasher-soap dispenser cover did break, and I had to get it fixed. I'm not sure if that was just a one-off manufacturer glitch or if this is a common occurrence for this model/make of dishwasher. We don't mistreat the dishwasher so it was a surprise it happened only after a couple years, but other than that I like it a lot.

Cleans dishes thoroughly.

I like the way it cleans the dishes, but it is not as easy to load efficiently as my old dishwasher. Also the top shelf is supposed to be adjustable by just pressing the latches on both sides and lifting or lowering the shelf. However the diagram is not specific enough as to whether to press down, forward, back. The mechanically inclined persons in our household have not figured out how to make it work.

Total junk do not buy!

Bought this not even 2 years ago, after 6 months the soap dispenser broke because it is cheap plastic held together with a cheap spring. That cost me 50 bucks. Now it will not drain all the water out of the bottom and is leaking and did damage to my tile floor. I called Maytag and since I did not buy the extended warranty they basically said oh well. I will never buy another Maytag as long as I live, they are no longer reliable!

Don't waste your money

I am very disappointed with this. First it states contains chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm & when I asked if it was the vinyl smell she said yes but only if you EAT it. I said well we ARE if it smells and is on our dishes so thickly you can smell it we ARE eating it! The tub smells horrible, like cheap vinyl and rubber so bad I have to wash my dishes when they come out of the dishwasher!I Have never been so disgusted as they ignore my complaints. Will NEVER buy Maytag again. Had my old one 18 yrs and NO smell EVER. It also does not wash well at all. Dirty pots. As I have to wash them again to get rid of the nasty smell I feel I have been given quite the lemon for all that money I paid for it!

Excellent cleaning and very quiet

We previously had a Maytag dishwasher for 24 years and when 2 problems surfaced recently we thought instaed of spending a couple of hundred dollars to fix it, it was time for a new replacement. We love it, so quiet compared to our previous one and we thought our original dishwasher was fairly quiet. Plus we got it on sale which is a bonus. We've had it for about 1 month now and the only complaint we have so far is that the upper racking system does not seat our small bowls nicely like our previous model. The bowls don't stay upright but instead flop over, which could have been corrected if they placed the pegs a little farther apart.

Good dishwasher, but needs flexible racks

Bought the dishwasher a month ago, but on the web since the store did not have the model on the floor for display. Really miss the flexible racks in the bottom to reconfigure for different loads.

Great Model

Got this installed about six weeks ago to replace a worn out, older Whirlpool model. The stainless steel interior is holding up well and there is more usable space than our older model. It is very quiet and everything comes out very clean. My only complaints thus far are that the "auto" setting (which is most efficient) still runs quite long even after the initial calibration setting, and the tines could be more flexible to accommodate different size dishes, especially on the bottom rack. Otherwise, it's been a great purchase!
