Repair Nightmare

Frustrated EX-Customer 8/24/2016

I bought essentially this same model 6 years ago. (a "2" was at the end of the model number. This week dishwasher would not start. Repair man isolated to the touchpad OR the main board, but could not detemine which was the culprit. Both are, on-line, approximately $150 repair parts, which I was willing to buy to fix the dishwasher. BUT, I cannot return any part that has been installed for a refund! Even when the true bad part cannot be diagnosed! If the repairman had to replace both parts, the repair would have cost me more than a new machine! Before you buy one of these, recognize when something goes wrong what the true cost of the machine is. I'm NEVER buying another Maytag product!!!

Expected more

After a few years of moderate use, it stopped working and needed an expensive repair. The bad part is called a touch membrane. The only reason I did not purchase a new dishwasher is because after reading customer reviews, I could not find a worthwhile replacement. Dishwashers should come with 'Let the buyer beware' warnings!
