Door Control Board Failure

I bought this refrigerator in November 9, 2009. It stopped working/running yesterday 8/16/17. The main control board turned black/blank. I called the customer service and talked with Tonia in Michigan today (8/17/17). I asked her to help me with trouble shoot or do I have any 10-year limited parts warranty for this fridge. She told that this fridge had only 1 year of part and service warranty. She couldn't help me with trouble shoot because the main control board was black/blank and she had no idea what was wrong with it. I called several appliance services in the local area. After hearing me explained the problems, none of them bothered to come to my house for diagnose. Some all of them gave me an advice that it is not worth it to replace the main control board, and I should purchase a new fridge because the high labor cost and the main control board is not available. It is sad that the main control board is the heard of the fridge and when it failed there is no way to replace it. This refrigerator becomes a scrap. There is no warranty of this important component or replacement part from the Maytag for this refrigerator that cost almost $2,000.00 and last for only seven and half years.

I ordered this fridge on 5/4/2009 online from Whirlpool. Loved it for a few years then noticed water leaking last year. Repairman had to replace the bottom tray that is underneath. It was cracked and had 'rotted' out. Cost me over $400 for parts and labor. There is a cover underneath so we cannot figure out how it was cracked. This month had to call repairman again. This time I was told that the fridge is losing refrigerant and can't be fixed. Told it will come and go for a week, 2 weeks or a month if lucky. Freezer will not freeze now. Refrigerator is barely 8 years old and I have to replace it!!

Recently the refrigerator stopped working. The main control board (wp10310240) failed. We purchased a 5yr extended warranty for the fridgerator. The control board failed in year six and was not available thru Maytag at this time. Same situation thru several online retailers and my local repair company. Appears that control board failure is a common issue. It is very disappointing to have a 6yr old unit fail and not be able to get a replacement board for an undetermined time.

We bought our house 6 months ago and the fridge came with the sale. We are please with it and love the filtered water dispenser feature.

Has done well for several years. Current problem with ice and water dispenser, which will not work when compressor cuts on.

From almost the minute this refrigerator was in use, the parts all broke. the drawers cracked. the front panel broke... for the money this cost this is the worst appliance I have purchased

I like the space inside, the movable sliding shelves and especially the deli drawer. The freezer drawer with baskets makes it easy to find any thing I need!
