my washer stop working. i was told it the main control board which i got put in, but it still does'nt power up. i really liked this machine

Purchased this Maytag unit and its dryer equivalent in 2008. The dryer has never caused me any issues. The Epic Z washer, however, I had serviced twice under its short warranty, and two years ago had replaced both the washer's computer control board and the front electronic touch panel totaling $599.85. As I am about to begin a wash cycle, I press "start," the system confirms my command by beeping, then COMPLETELY shuts off!
Two years after replacing both of these parts, and spending half the amount of purchasing a new washer, I am experiencing the same issues. Nothing like the dilemma of repurchasing over priced replacement parts with a 1 year warranty vs. a new washer. Thanks Maytag!

Our unit is now ten years old. After the warranty, we had two service issues and paid the bills to save our unit. Again the LEAKS are back and our service center said these are known issues and suggested not to waste our money fixing them.

Terrible knocking noise. Repair guy says the part needed is a spider; that is discontinued. I'd like to keep it since it's part of s set. I thought there was a 10 year warranty on parts? Replacing the basket entirely is an option but they cost almost as much as a new dryer.

I have had this washer for 7 years and have had no problems. It has made it through 2 teenagers washing their clothes, quilt washings, dyeing a robe and still going strong. I am surprised at other reviews as this washer has lived up to the Maytag name at my house!

Bought washer and dryer 5 maybe 6 years ago leaks all the time. Drain plugs a lot the repair guy has seen a lot of me.

Bought this was about 8 years ago. Had to replace the front seal twice and the computer. I only wash clothes for me so it doesn't get use hard and heavy. Would never buy another front loader again.

We bought these in 2009. The dispenser drawer is cheaply made and the front of it broke off. The bearings went out and its far too expensive to replace them since its nolonger under warranty. I'm bummed we only got 7 yrs out of this set.

Our Epic Z washer dryer pair are installed stacked in an adult foster home. The door hinges are very loose, the control panel top plastic covers both have cracked or broken out over switches/buttons. Cleaning has been very good. Worked well for 4-5 years before major damage showed up.

Paid way too much for a machine that did not last. Bearings started making noise after warranty was up 1.5 years. To much to fix so just kept using. Now I find out that they no longer make 36" h models. Great now what do I do, unit is in closet with restricted space. Build a new laundry room just to replace a washer ?Also we are left with an overpriced gas dryer with no mate !
