We replaced our GE with a Maytag side-by-side back in 2009. The only problem we have had was to replace the filter housing, which was easily done by ourselves, after going online and purchasing the exact replacement part. We love our Maytag and highly recommend them to everyone.

Maytag Isn't What It Used To Be!!!!!!!

I bought this substandard refrigerator about 5 1/2 years ago to replace a 20+ year old Amana Refrigerator. Now after only 5 1/2 years it broke down and I had to make a choice Pay $700+ to replace the compressor or buy a Quality refrigerator. Since Maytag doesn't stand behind their appliances anymore (probably because they know they are no longer Quality products) I got a different brand.

We've had this refrigerator for about four years and it's been great for our family of four. My only complaint is on the ice maker/water dispenser: our fingers have broken the plastic cover over the push buttons we use most often ("water" and "ice") and there is no easy fix. I was hoping to be able to replace the plastic cover, but I'm told we need to replace the whole water/ice unit. Will live with it, but it bugs me every time I use it...
