Good size but horrible ice maker

Have had this unit for only a couple years and have had to replace the ice maker twice already. Also, broke again this past week. Not going to replace it again, bought a different brand today.Also, leaks water occasionally.User beware!

We bought this unit just over 2 years ago. We left the house on a Friday and came back on Sunday to find everything warm. Called a technician out and determined that the compress went out. Replacement cost for the compressor over $900. Needless to say we said no and bought a new refrigerator for less than it was going to cost to repair.

this product worked good for 2 yrs. and just stopped for no reason at all. now I am forced to pay $200-$300 to have it fixed. I can remember when appliances had at least a 3 yr. warranty and sometimes even a 5 yr. its like pay $900 for a new fridge and it will cost you extra for a warranty. or pay for the fix when it happens. what ever happened to Quality products?

I love my new Maytag refrigerator. It holds a lot more than you would think. I am amazed at how much I can get in it. I really liked the ice and water in the door and the ice crushing feature is really nice. I was hesitant to go with a side by side but have no regrets!

This fridge has little quirks, like dripping water from the ice maker, the fridge isn't balanced and slides out when opening the door. The filter is very hard to replace.

The product is convenient to use and the indoor ice and water are very nice. I love being able to get either crushed or cubed ice or a glass of cold water without opening the appliance and losing the cold. Both sides of the appliance are convenient with quite a bit of space in the doors as well as sufficient self and draw storage.

Overall, this is an excellent product. The one negative is the ice maker. The storage bin has a tendency to freeze at point the bin agitator drive(on the underneath side of the bin) connects with the agitator drive on the door itself. The bin can be extremely difficult to remove. I found that a coating of Vaseline on both parts of the drive cures this problem. Also, make sure there is no moisture on either part of the drive when the bin is reinstalled.

This fridge is awesome. It has so much storage on both the fridge side and the freezer side and the ice storage in the door gives you a lot of room in the freezer.

We bought this fridge on the spur of the moment when our other fridge quit. I guess we should have done more research. We wanted a bottom freezer but they were too expensive. Both the freezer & fridge are too narrow. Everything has to be stacked to fit, so when we get something out of the back, we have to take everything in front of it out. A real pain. Other than that, it works great-the water & icemaker & it looks great also.

This fridge is great. Ample room in both the freezer and fridge. Love the ice and water feature, can't live without it! Very roomy compartment on fridge door side. Love this appliance!

I bought a Maytag side by side frig because of the in the door ice maker. It is noisy but efficient. I have a smaller kitchen which does not allow me to open the freezer door more than 95 degrees Due to this I cannot put a lot in the bottom freezer drawer because I have to pull out the frig to access the bottom drawer. Otherwise it works well and the regular frig compartment allows you to move shelves to customize it better.

refrigerator shelves could have been set up better lip on back edge of shelving interferes with storing items in the back of fridge.
