Overall very nice well made washer

Had the washer for a year. It cleans and performs well and you can tell is well made/put together. My only issue is that it drips a small amount of water from the front left corner. A very small bit of water forms on the floor during use randomly. Not every time but sometimes. It's bothersome being essentially brand new and quite expensive. I actually had a repair guy here yesterday (Nov 2019) and he said what I suspected. Essentially it's a design flaw, when water sprays into the top edge of the drum where the detergent or softener goes, it can splash over the edges causing it to run down just inside the washer wall. I wish there was some sort of gasket kit or something. I'm on a well and I don't think pressure is an issue. And the washer is as level as it can get. So $150 for the service because it's past the year warranty yet nothing can be done. It really is a minute amount of water but I don't think it should happen at all.

One Year and It Responds/Works When It Wants

After one year, the machine did not respond to any command pressed. Unplugged it for two days and it started working. In the six months after that incident, we've had to unplug the machine a handful of times for it to work. At the six month mark, we're back to the completely unresponsive issue. They really chose appearance over substance with this machine.

I actually bought this a while ago, the only thing was I shopped ONLY MAYTAG! Always had great service and products. I love this machine for several reasons, Top load I wanted, the deep fill basin option and the steam option are my favorite things.OH plus it handles so much more than my last washer, which I sold in perfect working order. it's 4 star rating is only because I am too short to reach the bottom when removing cloths, I need a step lol

Everything in a washer

Big washer that doesn't wash big loads

We have had this washer for around two years. We have a family of 7 and do a lot of laundry. We are extremely disappointed. We can only wash a normal sized load (even with the deep fill setting) because the water doesn't fill enough. One mattress pad and one fitted sheet and the deep fill setting doesn't cover them with water. Large items don't get cleaned because they don't get covered with water and because there is no agitator they don't get move around much. It is also starting to give drain errors even though the drain is clear.

Leaks poor wash

Bought this machine end of June 2017 from Lowe's. December 2018 it started leaking. Thought if we bought the extended warranty we would be protected. Well called finally got service , was told it was coming from the fabric softener dispenser. He said it was clogged. ( it wasn't , I use the refresh clean cycle every month sometimes twice a month.) He said he cleaned it and left. Went to wash clothes thAt evening and the machine didn't sound the same and it wasn't filling with water properly. It took almost 20 min to get enough water in it and then it was barely moving. It sounded like it was struggling. Then it leaked all over the floor again. This Time worse than before. They came back acted confused said they didn't understand . But ordered 3 parts for it. Tub ring, New dispenser, and dispenser line. Well they came back today and put those on. Went to do a load and now it's not washing the cloths at all for a cycle that should ha e been 120 minutes after sensing it dropped to 112 then to 107 then to 59min . It took 30 min to get the water in it then it was trying to move but it couldn't . It didn't leak but now it's not working properly at all. The workman will be back tomorrow Jan 17th 2019 this will be the 4th visit. After reading the reviews I ha e little confidence that it will be fixed. It's been almost a month with a broken machine.It would seem even having an extended warranty is pointless.

Design Flaw - Leaks!!

I am on my FOURTH washer. The first one came dented. The past three ALL leak in the exact same spot, front left corner. We have determined there is a design flaw. It can maybe handle a capacity of about 4.0, anything over that it leaks!! If you are buying this because of how large it is, move on. It was the reason for my purchase and unfortunately, I would have been better off going with a 5.2 size and saving lots of money. I want to return both the washer and dryer and start over!!!

Washer stopped working twice in 2 years

Doesn't Clean!!!!!!

I have had this machine for about a year and absolutely hate it!!! The cycles take soooooo painfully long and then to top it off it doesn't clean at all!!! The whites come out dirtier then when I put them in. I have had to hand clean socks because the wash cycle did literally nothing. I have done what they recommend and not use too much detergent, do the wash cleanings cycles with affresh tablets and I even tried smaller loads (which defeats the purpose of large capacity) and it still doesn't clean well. I honestly think it's just a design flaw where it can't properly drain the dirty water with the clothes in it. I was beyond excited to get this machine and have had the most frustrating year with it. Whatever you do, avoid this machine!!!!!

Great washer until it explodes!

I have owned my washer for about a year and on Sunday October 28, 2018 it decided it would explode into pieces and damaged my laundry room. Wrinkles, wrinkles, wrinkles!

I have owned a Maytag front loader for years so when I needed a new washer for a second home, Maytag was the only brand I seriously considered. My space woildn't work for a front loader so I bought the Bravos. It works ok except for the wrinkles. No matter what cycle I choose, my clothes are tied up in knots and the wrinkles are not removed in the dryer. I am unwilling to iron everything I wash and I now pause the machine and remove shirts and tops so they can drip dry without spinning. This is not how washing should be. Sheets are mangled on the sheets cycle and delicates are impossibly wrinkled. I wish I had read more reviews of this machine before I purchased it. It was a big mistake and now I feel stuck with a very poorly designed machine. The pictures below included no sheets, only similar-sized items. Hopefully, you can see just how bad the weinkling is and learn from my mistake.

Biggest disappointment ever!

Does not clean the clothes at all! The minute the clothes are in the sun or get slightly damp they smell dingy and moldy. Doesn't even agitate enough to dissolve the laundry soap that I accidentally dropped on my towels. Left bright blue stains on the clothing. Tears holes in the clothes when you use the power wash cycle. Jeans somehow get tied up into knots. I have to wash my husbands work clothes three times to get them marginally clean and this process takes at least three hours. Worst washing machine EVER. Do not buy it unless you never get dirty or sweat in your clothing. I hate to even list it used on Craigslist for fear the poor soul that buys it will know where I live and dump it on my front lawn.

Majority of clothes are not even getting wet after a full cycle (including deep wash) The agitation is awful, the clothes never move what goes in first stays on bottom & what goes in last stays on top. The agitation moves approximately 1 inch clockwise then 1 inch counter clockwise. The clothes never move. Large load, small load the clothes don't get clean. The washer struggles to balance, and because it sensors, weighing the clothes, during the spin cycle it reads off balance, adds water to balance itself, spins, adds water this will continue at times two three hours or more just on the spin cycle alone. These issues have been from day 1.

Loved our earlier Maytag washer because of the washer cleaner cycle. No moldy washer for me. Bought this unit and it was larger than expected. I can easily wash 5 lap blankets/throws in one load. All blankets and hunting jackets will fit with ease. It handles small loads as well. The interior is beautiful and has interior lighting to see into the basin. It is a bit big and I need to use a grabber, at times, to reach the bottom of the basin. I might get a small step stool to assist. The clear lid is a great feature, although I am afraid I will scratch it.

Doesn't clean!

I purchased this washer and dryer a few months ago and was so excited to get rid of my front loader! Loved it at first but it doesn't clean well at all!! With pets and kids I'm always doing laundry and never have I washed something and had it come out the same as I put it in, socks regularly come out of the wash still dry and pet blankets forget it all together they are always dirty. I wash my dogs blankets 3 times to get them cleanish with this washer. Very disappointed!

Exploding glass feature

Bought this on 1/8/18, was delivered late in January as it was on back-order. On 4/30/18, during a cycle, the washer made a pop sound. There was glass everywhere. The glass had shattered and exploded onto the floor and washer. The glass is on the inside of the drum and all over the clothes. Contacted Maytag and they sent out a repairman the next day. Repair said there is a point of impact indicated I dropped something on it. NOTHING was dropped on it. There is a point of impact, from the inside. The glass is pushed up and out indicating pressure from INSIDE the washer. Repairman says it's not covered under warranty and that I had to pay for his time as well. He also said there are no known issues with this lid and washer. The lid is out of stock and won't be available for awhile. I called Maytag and they gave me the same response, "never heard of this.." and "lid is out of stock". I found SEVERAL reviews/complaints in which, for the exact same model, this has happened to other people. This glass lid is dangerous and poses a serious safety risk to households that contain it. If they replace the lid, there is no guarantee this will not happen again. A child could walk by the washer and at any moment the glass lid could explode, send tiny shards of glass everywhere. I want a refund for this dangerous washer.

Great set!

We bought this Maytag set a couple of months ago and it has been awesome! This washer is so big! It will definitely fit large size comforters as well as lots of clothes! The only thing I've noticed is if you add TOO much clothes it doesn't get as clean. But you can still add a lot more than other washers!! Other than that this washer does exactly what it's supposed to do and is very easy to use! Very happy with our purchase!

I bought this washer almost a month ago and I couldn't be happier. I researched by model, brand, size, price and repairs. Maytag topped the list. I highly recommend this machine to anyone with children. I've washed up to 17 pairs of jeans at a time with no problem. Awsome machine. I love washing now!

Bought both the 955 washer and dryer for the wife. The kids and I have washed everything in the house. Even those big comforters and blankets that are so hard to get washed and dried...with ease. So easy to use, makes doing the wash fun!!!

Water leaks out down the side

Water has too much force and drips down the side of the washer, bad design. Had the Service man out twice. He and I think it's a bad design. Also very hard to balance washer on the 4 feet.

I bought this in July 2017, I received it in August. I LOVE IT! It's HUGE! I don't know how I lived without it for so long. Just ordered the dryer and can't wait to get it. My hubby wanted to wait till our old one goes out, but I can't wait any more. I need it for our king size comforters. I'm so excited. I look forward to doing laundry. The only thing missing is a setting for "White Bedding".
