Had to replace my old Whirlpool dishwasher, gave me many years of reliable cleaning, probably could of had it fixed, but the trays were very rusted, we have very hard water, most of the (glass) support thingamajigs were broken off, went on line to see if I could purchase new shelves but were very expensive, so decided to purchase a new one. Not only does it do the job it's suppose to, it does it quietly, don't even hear the dishes rattling when its running (better insulation?) and the plastic bowls and cups don't flip over (a better jet system?). One thing I truly love is there is a little light on the front that indicates that the dishes are cleaned and ready to put away, no second guessing, I always had to put a magnet on my old one so the kids knew for sure that they could do their job. I also like the silverware basket located in the door panel, opens up a lot more space inside the unit for bigger items.

This dishwasher is worth every penny you spend! I replaced an old portable with this one and I didn't realize how bad of a job my old one was doing until I got this. I have 2 young kids so there are a lot of little bowls and sippy-cups and other things with little nooks, crannies, and recesses, and I have not had any floating food debris in crevices or cups, I haven't had any dried and stuck-on food on any of my dishes, utensils, or cups/glasses (or anything else), and I FINALLY don't have watermarks!! The utensil rack is awesome! I was initially afraid that my utensils may not get as clean because of the placement and size of the rack but I couldn't have been more wrong. It fits any size/shape utensil vertically, but if you have something like skewers that you want to wash, you can actually open up the rack and lay them horizontally and somehow they still come out just as amazingly clean! I don't have a single complaint about this machine. It's easy to use, the tall tub allows me to wash anything and everything, even my 12qt stock pot, and it's as quiet as a portable can get (even quieter than some new buil-ins that I've been around)! They really got it right on the design of this product. I've never had dishes this clean, or this dry - and it's quiet! I'm no longer forced to run my dishes only after bedtime because of the noise my old one made. I've actually run this dishwasher with my 18 month old, who is a VERY light sleeper, in the next room with no problem! I'm so impressed with this dishwasher that I could probably rave about it for hours. It's well worth the money as I have absolutely zero complaints about it. My husband and I actually get a kick out of seeing how big of a pot or how dirty of a pan this dishwasher can clean - and it ALWAYS does. I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!

Because I don't have room for a built in, I have had two 18" which I thought was great for the 2 of us but when the last one went up, we decided to try the full size portable and we love it-was surprised it fit in the same space as the small one--had to move a cupboard but it's perfect and holds so much more--runs very quiet and the dishes come out clean, clean, clean-love it.

We lacked sufficient cabinet space to warrant having a built in installed, so we special ordered the portable. The only con was the included rack for the forks & knives; its was extremely thin and hard to get the stuff out of it. So we took an older larger rack that we had and put that in the bottom load rack. Would I buy this one all over again? Yes we would.

Product is easy to use, does a good cleaning job, and keeps my hands out of the dishwater. We have since bought a dryer and feel the same way about it.We have used many Whirlpool appliances and have been well satisfied.

Good product, except smaller than the older ones in the tub size. I really like new feature about the door not opening full unless you have the bottom tray out. Saves on the skinned shins. It takes a bit longer to do the dishes but you do have options on degrees of length. I find it is a great product and good service for warranty.

to continue the summary, by any other name it just wouldn't be as good. My only complaint about the unit is in the lights on the control panel...since my dishwasher is a portable, I have to have it connected to the faucet to use. The lights tell you that it is working, wash etc., but if you use the dry feature, the light for it is always on when washing and vice versa....when in heated dry mode the wash light is also on. It would be nice if when it was through with the wash cycle that its light would go out and only the dry light would stay on. It does shut them all off except for the done light until you open the door, but if you walk in sometime in the middle of the whole cycle it is hard to tell where it's at to prepare for shutting the water off. Fix that problem and it would be as close to perfect as anything man=made would be. I still love it, recomend it. and would buy it again.

I sell appliances for a living, and was replacing a 12 yr old Maytag portable. The Maytag did a great job, I was totally satisfied with it's performance and longevity.I have no choice but to have a portable, I would much prefer a built in. Having said that, the pool of models available is slim.I chose the Whirlpool because we floor it at my store. I was not thrilled with the fact that there is no spray arm in the top of the tub as the Maytag had, and my concerns were proven true. This thing does a lousy job on the top rack, leaving deposits on the indentations of cups, etc. I washed a greasy pan ( normal grease nothing extraordinary) and when the cycle was done, everything especially the dishes in the top were greasy. I had to run the cycle again, this time on Pots & Pans cycle to get everything clean.Most manufacturers boast about and advise against washing or rinsing dishes before placing in the dishwasher, with this Whirlpool, it is a necessity.The dishwasher does a lousy job on anything with any amount of dried foodstuffs. Again based on performance of my old Maytag, dishes with dried on food or partially dry, came clean all the time. I've found that my breakfast oatmeal dishes always have to be hand washed after a cycle in this machine. So, what's the point?The options I had were Maytag, Whirlpool and GE. I'm thinking now I may have been better off with a GE.If you like washing dishes before washing dishes, if you never cook anything greasy, then this machine is for you.Needless to say, I won't be recommending this machine to customers.

I love this dishwasher. It has a lot of room and does a great job. I would recommend this for anyone that is needing a portable dishwasher. It cleans the clothes and does a great job on my dishes.

Had a few hiccups getting it going (leaked at first), then they stood behind their product and repaired it at no charge. I love it, moves about easily, can move it with one hand.The big tub is awesome, you can put taller things on the top rack, and very tall items on the bottom rack. I've been lazy and not pre-rinsed the dishes before loading the dishwasher, and they STILL came out clean, I love it!
