Samsung Never Again

Kelly 11/4/2020

so disappointed. watch which is still under warranty started rebooting and would not stop. sent to samsung and they said it has water damage and want almost as much for the repair as i paid for it. the watch is (water resistant) and even has a swimming app. i have never swam with the watch but have showered with it a couple of times. this is the icing on the cake after buying a samsung refrigerator that is very problematic. i'm on my 4th galaxy phone. it will now be my last. i will never buy another samsung product again.

Loved it till it got updated

Heavenly 10/25/2020

i love the watch, keeps track of all my health activities. i dont use it for socializing or texting to conserve the battery life. although i do get notifications for emergencies. i could wear it all day and the battery would get below 50% even if iused it while workingout. the features are wonderful, and i especially loved the disturb feature until it got updated. since the new upgrade a few days in october the battery usage goes fast and the disturb feature doesn't work even if i turn it on, the screen still turns on even when i sleep. the new upgrade has changed everything and when i get home after a 18 hour day the battery is at 35% even with all the features turned off. it is really disappointing because i really liked those features in the watch. i hope it can get resolved soon.

Less than mediocre

Tp4samsung 10/7/2020

i was really excited to receive my galaxy watch. i misplace my phone frequently so the find my phone function was much desirable. since i've received my watch, i have noticed that the find my phone feature does not always work. this is disappointing because it's the main reason that i purchased the watch. the watch is terrible at capturing steps. the text feature is most consistent when connected to bluetooth and wifi but i've had issues it as well. i do like that you're able to type or use voice-to-text to send messages. i have also found my skin getting irritated lately from wearing it. i would not purchase this product again.

Fairly good watch until...

Aumcchildren 10/5/2020

the watch isnt bad except it constantly unpaired from my device. sometimes while i was sitting next to it. speaker needs a volume control and i couldnt hear the person well. had to have the watch pretty much up to my mouth for them to hear me. the battery life sucks. i had to keep it on black and white battery saver mode to get any kind of battery life out of it. last night there was an update available.. after i clicked it my watch went crazy flashing a rebooting, then a black screen, then rebooting.. for the entire night until my watch died. wont turn back on. had this thing less than a year or around that. not worth the money i paid for it.

Samsung doesn't stand behind their products.

Michael 9/26/2020

when i bought the galaxy watch active2 mid-june, i got it for the ecg feature which i needed due to some health concerns. i've patiently waited until it was rolled out, but now come to find out it requires a samsung phone to even use. honestly, this is extremely anti-consumer and i'm severely disappointed with samsung for this reason. on top of that, apparently june is too far back to get a refund. i'll think twice before buying a samsung product, and i'll be sure to warn all of my friends.

Bad manufacturing not covered under warranty

Nick 8/14/2020

I had this watch for 3 or 4 months before I started having issues. It started with rapid battery loss and shortly after became outright unusable. I sent the watch in to the warranty center and they came back saying the warranty was void. They claimed there was water damage that isn't covered. They asked me for 220 to repair it. The whole marketing for this watch is being water resistant up to 50m and that it can be used to track swimming workouts. I've never even showered with it. This watch isn't safe to wash your hands with apparently. I tried calling to make things right but nobody seemed to know who I need to talk to. I spent probably a total of 8 hrs on the phone trying to fix this to no avail.

Poor Battery

Disappointed 8/1/2020

battery life would maybe last 6 hours before being completely drained. this was also on zero use other than just wearing it while sitting at a desk. switched to a fitbit and have had 6+ day battery life on a sibgle charge. this samsung is the worst purchase ive ever made and i ince bought heelys.

Nice Upgrade From FB

Dave K 6/30/2020

i am enjoying the active 2 for tracking my workouts and other smart watch functions. i really like the fact that gps is built in and i no longer have to have my phone with me on a run or bike ride. the appearance, the band and the size of the 40 mm model are perfect for me. my only disappointment is battery life which is less than two days. i have purchased a second charger to increase my opportunities to charge and remedy the limited battery life.

Extremely poor water resistance!

Luke 5/28/2020

I bought this watch for my wife 8 months ago and it is completely shot now. The only water it has ever been exposed to is from the shower! I sent it back to Samsung and they wanted to charge me over $200 to replace the motherboard as it had "liquid damage" that is not covered by the warranty. Extremely disappointed! Obviously I will never buy another one and would not recommend this watch to anyone who gets near water.

Watch looks great but the box came with an uncut sticker over a cut one, and the bezel has weird discoloration that seems to be coming from the underside of the glass since it cant be rubbed away and is only visible in good lighting.

Overall not very happy with this watch

Tubs 2/11/2020

I had a Fossil and took it back to get this watch because it had Samsung Pay. However i didn't realize that it didn't have the NFC version of it so it is not as useful and i should have stuck with Fossil. Bixby rarely works for me. The feature to have it turn on with wrist movement never works The battery life is abysmal and goes down 55% in Night Mode. You would think night mode would use LESS battery. Most of the time i can't get the watch to come on with double tap so i have to use the button. I am not able to delete emails from the watch which would be a really useful feature. About the only feature i do like is the workout app.

Forcible upgrade JUNK

AD93 1/27/2020

It's stated that this watch can measure your blood pressure. What Samsung fails to tell you is that it will measure blood pressure... only if you have their newest phones! Even though some of these phones cannot measure the blood pressure themselves (meaning that they rely SOLELY on the watch to do so) you cannot download the BP lab app to anything other than a s9 or s10. And guess what? You have to have the app on your phone in order for the watch app to work. I guess Samsung thought they would force users to spend more money upgrading on a new phone. Guess they have another thought coming, as this loyal brand user will never buy another Samsung product again. Too bad, I really did love the note series.

Charging Issues on the second day.

DougW 1/16/2020

I like the way the watch looks and how it feels on my wrist. I wore the watch until the batter got low from the factory charge. I then placed it on the charger and charged it to 100%. The next day after a lot of use the watch was down to 65% and I went to charge it while sitting at my desk and nothing happened. It really sucks there is already an issue on the second day wearing it. I have tried everything. I am going to go to best buy and see if there is another charger to test it on but its hard to believe the charger burned out after one use.

I must say this active watch 2 is way better than the profit I have. Way more features and more comfortable band. It feels like I dont even have it on wrist. I received mine yesterday and have learned all features already. Great deal as well. I got a free gift with my purchase. Easy to pair and set up. I love that I can make my photo a clock face too.

Awesome watch

Angieh622 12/8/2019

The first time I got this watch was through Best Buy they sold me a used and defected watch they only last half a day battery life. The watch band was so stretched that it fit me very huge so I returned it but that did not stop me I decided to order it from samsung.com and now I am extremely happy because the battery last me for 2 days. The only thing I wish the band had at least an extra more Loop so it could fit me tighter. I am glad that I decided to give it another try and I am very happy now. But I will not forget that experience

Going on about 3 weeks of ownership now and I love the watch. Very comfortable and looks great, many watch faces to choose from on the store. I bought this watch mainly to track my sleep and activity while pushing me to work out more and it has absolutely done that.

Bad enough that I returned it

Thelvyn 10/8/2019

Horrible battery life is the primary issue I have with this watch. It has plenty of features but if you turn any of them on the battery life drops to nothing. Just with text notifications, email notifications, and always on HR...I get a day at best. That wouldn't be so bad, but the wireless charger it comes with is so slow that charging is a 2 hour experience. So you get a full featured watch, that you can't use any of the features on unless you just want to wear it for part of the day. Coming from a fitbit versa it was a painful experience that might have been overcome.....but...the service and support through chat was so bad I couldn't take it. It took 30 minutes and 4 people to find out if a fast charging pad would charge it faster.....they finally said not, but really...I'm not sure. I have no clue as none of the support people could tell me charging types it supports or wattage of the pads. I really wanted to like this but horrible support and documentation by Samsung, not to mention poor battery life, just did it in.

Greatest upgrade yet

Juan 10/6/2019

I originally was going to buy a the Samsung fit 2 but could not find it. When I went into best buy and tried the Active 2 (40MM) I was sold. It does everything that I want it two. I don't need to do all the crazy stuff that most people who gave bad reviews do. I am big into running and use samsung fitness app every single day. I can answer phone calls and respond to text messages while on bluetooth. I leave my phone when I go on my runs and play my music from spotify offline that is downloaded to the watch while running my samsung fitness app. I love it. I haven't yet taken it in water because I don't to run the risk. The one thing I would say that is negative about this is that I wasn't able to get the LTE for the total $300 out the door price. Plus side is that it is lighter and better then the original Gear watch.

An expensive but accurate fitness trainer

troybob 9/30/2019

It's not a BAD watch....but.... I bought this to replace a broken android watch. Everyone said that the Samsung OS was so much better than android wear. It is, and isn't. I seemed to have given up SOO much functionality by switching to Tizen while just getting a bit more peppy response. I'm perplexed why reviews prefer Tizen to Wear OS, although (to be fair) I did have some stability issues with Wear I haven't seen with Tizen in the first few days. Want to get turn by turn directions while driving without looking at your phone? Get ready to pay for an app if you want navigation to work well (the free ones aren't great - and there is no native navigation integration for some reason). You can't even install google maps to check traffic before you leave a work meeting (because looking at your phone is rude, right?). Want to start a Pandora song or any podcast? Want to join the upcoming Webex meeting by just tapping your watch while driving? Want to reply to a Slack or Webex Teams chat? Want to check the weather radar (for free?) Want to make a Jabber or Google Hangouts call? Too bad - pull out your phone! Want to ask your phone a question? You'll need Bixby for that (no thanks - 6 samsung phones later I've never turned her on.) To be clear - there is a galaxy store with watch apps and watch faces - but be sure to research the differences in the Galaxy store and the Android Play store before you purchase. To me the gap is too great. I never once said "oh I didn't know it could do that!". Honestly the watch is great for hardware - the battery is excellent (5 stars on battery) and the display is great. I really bought it for the ECG, because of family history, but it's not there yet in software so it's vapor-ware. So I feel like I paid 300 bucks for a glorified fitness planner that will sometimes let me respond to limited notifications - the rest I have to pull out my phone. I love my Samsung phone (and the 6 other samsung phones I've had in my life) - hopefully one day there will be a unified android watch OS, because the samsung OS seems more refined (good job devs), but lacks a TON of ecosystem partnerships and fragments development (bad job business leaders). This could be a great watch for many people, just not for someone spoiled on their old android apps that aren't available for Tizen.
